Im pretty sure were going to be able to update it, without purchasing a new cart.

According to the response emails people have posted, the update will go live either this Friday or next. Broken english makes it hard to be certain.

That was another R4 clone team. There's been a lot of speculation about whether or not the R4i-SDHC solution was going to be another card, but nothing more than "soon" or "two weeks" or "we're working hard" from the email correspondence.
