Hacking Old R4 on new DS Lite.

I'm thinking of buying a new DS Lite because mine is pretty busted. Have there been any hardware revisions to stop people from being to use the R4 or does the R4 work on any DS Lite in existence?

i heard the ORIGINAL r4 didnt worked on ds lites with specific firmwares.. but i can be wrong.. i am not actually sure..

I have an original R4, and it works like charm with Wood firmware

ok! thats great!

just for curiosity, which firmware do you have? (to check the firmware, put a ds normal card, open picochat and eject the card, depending on the color of the screen you will be able to check the version)

v1: Pictochat hangs
v2: two grayish blue screens
v3: two dark green screens
v4: two golden yellow screens
v5: two magenta screens (DS lite units have this)
v6: two dark blue screens (un-confirmed new DSes have this)
iQue: two dark green screens
