So I haven't used my PSP in like a year (I think Phantasy Star just came out then, cause it's my newest game on it). I've got System Software 3.90 M33-2. I'm thinking about getting some new stuff like Peace Walker, Ghost of Sparta, and Twisted Metal. What should I update to?

The latest stable CFW is 5.50 Prometheus I think. The latest OFW is 6.35. There's a beta 6.35 CFW, only for hackable PSP 2000s.

So I tried updating using XGEN GEN D3 Updater. It looks like it's installing for a bit, then the psp just turns off. I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Requirements:

* A PSP with custom firmware installed AT LEAST 5.00 M33-6. Although the installer worlds on 4.01 M33, it’s better if you upgrade to 5.00 M33-6 to lower the risk of the installation failing. If you’re having problems installing 5.50 GEN-D, read the troubleshooting part below.
