old 3ds dim screen

The original 3ds top screen is dark. The problem is in the motherboard - I tried to install another one and everything is fine with it, but what exactly failed on it is not clear. Flexible cable connectors are all clean, without oxides.

ive only seen this when the blacklight is broken in the top screen, i normal use a smashed screen and pinch the blacklight from it.

i cant remember the 3ds mobo, but possiblily a buck regulator not boosting the voltage for backlight

i would also swap out the flex cable for a speakers, if you haven't already, and inspect the zif

No, there's nothing wrong with screens and flexible cables. The problem is in the motherboard, but it is unclear what exactly to look at it - the connectors all look intact and without oxides.

Then you have to replace the mainboard or ask someone to attempt a repair. Never heard about an issue like this so chances are probably low on a mainboard fix.
