Had an old Nintendo 3ds, replaced speaker/3d flat and touchscren and it powers on and work flawlessly apart from charging, neither directly with a charger nor via charging cradle.
As soon as I plug charger in, orange led lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off without charging battery.
Charged battery with an external charger and then console power up with no problem, tested charger with another console and it's ok.
So problem is on motherboard.
Tested continuity on f1 fuse and it seems ok, so I did the same with f2 fuse and it seems I have the same result.
I guess f2 fuse is the one located near the battery connector since it is not indicated as f1.
Actually there's another smd component close to this fuse but I'm not sure what is it and if it could be the coolprit...
Could anybody help me fix this issue?

Are you sure it's about 5 seconds and not closer to 1-2 seconds? Maybe the charger is just not making a good contact
If you have another console try using the battery from it (even if it's not the same physical size try holding it in there and checking if it will charge) but if it still does the same thing then it's probably a problem with the motherboard (damaged charger IC?)

It’s not the battery, battery charges on 3ds xl...
