Hacking Ok, So I figured it out.

I have a D2B chip and the pins arn't cut. (From what WiiTracker says) so what chip would you suggest I order with the Wii-Clip. PS I am ordering from ModChipCentral.

Should I go with this: I just really hope my pins arn't cut.

If so it should go well, i bought the wiiclip+wiikey solder on, triwing pack. (from modchipcentral)
works great with my wii...
though i got it at launch

Open it up and have a look. If the legs are cut, you'll need to grind back the IC to install a wiikey (ewwww). In this case, you'd be best off with a d2pro9 or a wasabi.

Why would you get the d2c solderless wii clip if you have D2B? Not only would you not need it, but you couldn't use it. Just get a wiikey, or even a yaosm if you're fun

Stop failing. I've been away from the "Wii scene" and even I know the WiiClip has different templates to be used on different mod chips. Hell the user even linked you to what he was buying.

my mistake, i just never thought d2b would need a 'template' for those few easy points. A bit of work when soldering is fun

Well I got mine in April of 2007 if that makes any difference. Didn't the cuts start coming out like in June of 2007 or so?

Just open the wii! You will be opening it anyway to install the modchip.

Get a CycloWiz. Those are the best and MCC has them in stock.
