Be careful with buying some 3rd party cables should you do so. I have found that the Nyko cables fit really tight (maybe too tight) and charge just fine, and are longer than the official cable also.
The problem is that the Nyko cable is charge only and does not work for data transfer so CMA and PS3 connection via USB will fail.
