Yeah dude, I think you got scammed with that 512GB card.
Afaik the highest cards should be around 200-256GB.
You might find some 400GB ones, but those should be around the $200 price tag, while the 200-256 ones should go between 60-100 bucks.

If it was a legit 512GB card, we would be speaking of a price tag above 200 bucks, even hitting the same price as the Switch I bet.

If that Sd card shows exactly 512 gb then it's 100% fake/scam, in the storage industry 1gb=1000mb so a 512gb card/Hdd has only 465gb!

it doesn't matter if it says 512gb, because scammers can mod the firmware to report 512gb as capacity when infact it only has 2-4gb.

you can use h2testw to find out, I would write maybe 8gb file instead of the whole card, if there's errors, then its fake

It says it has 499gb, that doesn't sound right...Hrrr....Serves me right.
I had it for eight months to year.

sorry, I dont want to be "that guy" but 1GB = 1024MB not 1000. any (usally minor) discrepancy in advertised and actual storage capacity, when buying legitimate products, can be attributed to: 1.Partitioning (this actually takes up space). or 2. the quality yield of the media produced, whether that be IC(nand,emmc,etc etc...) or spinning magnetic disk.

You missed what he was saying. The companies sell based off 1000kb = 1Mb. That statement was actually true and is legal false advertisement. Because it’s based off the metric system and not binary. 1GB will be off 6.8%. This is why a 128GB sd card will show 119 on your computer. Not because of partisioning, which will only be in MB’s and usually only if your drive has a boot sector.

haven't you never read any memory cards/HDD's package? you should grab ur nearest one and read it carefully, and u will see...

The only company atm that has a 512 gb micro sd card id PNY for $350 and its sold out . Integral Memory has a 512 gb as well but wont work for switch.

Thanks, that's 50% at least . I'm about to go from 4.0.1 to 5.1 and want to make sure I've got the bases covered. I prefer memes to the angry atmosphere/hekate crowd... they are just SO ANGRY.
