Hello! By any chance could you make the noob friendly explanation ?

Or correct me if i understood it wrong:

1. Copy the files to the SD card (I can do this with a sd card reader i asume).
2. Run ReiNX.bin using tegraRCMgui
3. Put the jig in the console and start the switch with the sd back on (this is the step where i doubt).
4. If i managed to get the 3.zip file i am good to go right? i mean for testing purposes with the freenxshop.

I am totally a newb in this, but really looking forward to try. Mainly due to homebrew and backup playing.

where will i put the .nsp files?

BTW, Atmosphere needs to catch up, ReiNX is winning so far xDDDDD (all people care about is sig patches, myself included).

Atmosphere has done a lot, specifically booting into Horizon with patches applied. Without that we'd be SOL. Though, to an extent I can agree. This morality shit on a console hacking scene is just pathetic. I cannot side with someone with that type of attitude.

If you're happy to burn 300 quid and not play online then fair enough. I just want homebrew I'll pay for my games. Online is integral to me (fifa, mario tennis, mk, Splatoon) so yeah fire away if you're not bothered I just want lakka

Yep, do whatcha want. However, don't expect to be happy when you've contributed many hours online to unexpectedly have your console banned the next day for running unsigned software. I'm interested in being able to do what I want with the console I spent a lot of money on, I don't give a flying fuck about some proprietary servers that'll be locked behind a paywall in a matter of months.

I don't blame you. I've learned that trying to compile on Windows is often more trouble than it's worth. Glad to hear that you managed to compile a copy another way!

Tinfoil gives me an error while trying to install a .nsp. Anyone knows what it might be?

You can't install updates/DLC with it

.. i got it to work!!! i just put the .nsp file in the nsp folder.. very simple to use.. thanks REI!! hope for a .xci installer soon.. as my games are in .xci format.

AFAIK there's no public way, you need hekate though. Hekate applies the LayeredFS patch then boots into ReiNX then you can run Devmenu

Honestly, I don't mind getting banned. If the online turns out to be pretty good, and actually worth the 20 dollars a year. Then I don't mind buying the games I wanna play online. Plus, maybe July 2019 will finally have a Switch price drop, if not, then I'll just buy a Switch tablet only off eBay. There is already a few being sold for 150 on eBay, so maybe by next year this time, they'll be 100 dollars.
