I'll be pirating it. I already paid my dues when I bought the SNES and PS1 versions near the time of their releases and while it's one of my favorites games of all time I don't see the point in buying it a 3rd time...but yes I'll enjoy playing it on my DS still which is why i'm pirating it.

*Ahem*I don't mind you pirating but please don't promote it. Some people buy it, in all fairness, to help nintendo to continue porting/creating games. Remember, Gbatemp is a website to promote gaming, not piracy -.-

I personally support piracy for the most part. Entertainment prices, not just in games but movies and music have increased rediculous amounts. 10.50 to see a movie in theatres? 20 bucks plus for a CD which nowadays maybe if I am lucky have 2 decent tunes on them? 60 bucks for half finished games? That need to be patched a week after release.

Its a joke. Pirate away my friends. Pirate away.

I will be buying CT for the DS though, complete the collection of them.

Due to some insane coincidence with my username, everyone seems to think I'm a Chrono Trigger fan. As a matter of fact I've never touched the game. This would probably be a good chance for me to try it and see what the fuss is all about.

LOL

Also, i dont know what all the fuss is about either so i'm starting to play it and see if its good

Didn't you consider why it's like that? For every person like you pirating, they have to increase price to match total cost. =/

Your assuming every pirate equals a lose of money which is not the case......

A few things...I've mostly had a change of heart, I'll be buying the game when it comes out the 25th but even if that weren't the case I don't really need nor care for your approval whether i've pirated it or not and it sure doesn't do a lot of good trying to give a lecture about something that was said months ago. Last of all, the topic creator asked a question and I simply gave my response. Whether you feel that's promoting it or not isn't really my problem.

Most of my friends and I enjoy watching movies on the big screen, actually. It's rather more enjoyable than well, watching it on TV or on a computer screen. I think the prices, at least around my area (a little less than $9 for students) are affordable, given that movie-going is only an occasion for me. I'd say it's pretty worth it for the sound and picture quality, especially if you know the movie's worth watching. :\

Otherwise I totally agree with game pirating. Most prices out there are out of whack, especially for a lot of Xbox and PS3 games. Sure, you pay for quality, but quality would last a couple days before it goes back to the used pile in game stores.

Given it's the first time I'm playing it, it's a pretty good game. Not epic win like most people say about the NES version, since it's basically a port. Even graphically. Sure, there are some changes here and there, and I think the multiple endings confer a certain charisma to one of the oldest games today.

Out of 10? I'd give an 8.5. Game of the Year? Not really, there are some games that largely surpass it, like FFIV and TWEWY. Despite CT being a "classic", I still don't think it has the potential to beat those two wonderful games.

Okay, before I download this game on the R4DS, what is so good about this game that's often talked about!

You're gonna get flamed, don't ask questions like that, especially if they have been answered here and in the official release thread..

If you heard that game's good, just check it out..It's a RPG, with a great story, very innovative for it's time, and great graphics (again, considering that it's a port)..
It's a pure classic, and as every other classic game, it's worth at least checking out!

I pirated it. I'll buy things when they REALLY please me, and that's a very rare occurence.
Got to Arris dome and realized
a) I'd played through this game 5 or more times on the SNES
b) this was pretty much the same game
c) Chrono Trigger is (with the exception of some minor innovations) just another JRPG

Then I stopped playing.

i play for a couple hours roughly every other day.

it's a great port, but indeed this is just the same thing all over again.
How will this game be for someone who never played the original? Good game, or something outdated?

It is my first time playing Chrono Trigger

It's really a good game..it has a good battle system...
But for me, the game would have been better if it was turned to 3D
