Hacking Off to Nintendo you go..

Well, my wii is as f***ed as it can get, and i decided I'm going to send it off to nintendo.
My warranty is over, as i bought it 2 years ago, and I'm going to have to pay to repair it ...BUT
I have attempted soft-modding it (what caused it to go brick-ish) and then to try and fix that, i tried hard-modding, but that too didn't work.
So even though I've done all that, will nintendo repair it, or will they go nup, you've messed with our shit now you don't get fixed.

I called them up and they said if they can't fix it they will replace it for $250 (AU) but I didnt tell them how it got screwed up

Views/opinons/experiences anybody?

You should've probaply removed the chip as there's a pretty damn big chance they will remove it.
They probaply won't care about the softmodding though.

Im not too sure since you opened it. If you only tried soft modding it I don't think Ninty would care. Im not too sure about your situation.

I have removed the chip. so hopefully they will fix it, or give me a replacement (preferably without the epoxy)

If you pay full price for the repair,

They HAVE to repair it.

But I hope you know, your Wii MIGHT be at firmware 3.4 if it's a new replacement.

As far as I know, opening the console only voids the warranty (which is done anyways) so you couldn't get it fixed for free. But since you are using their repair service I don't think it would matter.

lol you're getting the epoxy. You'll most likely get a D2E and most of them have epoxy so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Though, you could always buy another drive.

wait....weren't you gonna try a retail zelda tp after removing the chip...what happened to that plan?

an NTSC retail with an NTSC menu (with no chip) WILL work.

if you have a chip just use an auto-boot disc.

how exactly did you brick your wii? If we know that we can tell you what to do to fix it yourself.

yeh well the NTSC game came in today, and i tried it with-
The chip with region patching ON
The chip with region patching OFF
Without the chip
None of them worked...

Ninty will repair it, its not illeagle to hard mod your console with a chip
they have no right to refuse you

sweet, I'm going to send it off tomorrow, hopefully will have it back within 2 weeks as i don't want to waste my holidays...
