OCDM - Mario Maker 3DS course manager

OCDM stands for Online Course Database Manager

Features*:
  • import and export courses, both** 3DS and WiiU
  • cryptofix saves (if the game marked your save as "corrupted")
    • Note: this will overwrite the LockoutID in your courses, not in the save file, so please be fair and don't reupload others' courses :)
  • make/apply save snapshots (exports all files which are used in the save)
    • Note: please format your save data before restoring your save otherwise the game could mark your save as "corrupted", and this one is not cryptofixable
  • browse SMMDB
    • download courses
    • discontinued

*: these features are in the latest build at the time of editing this post, so functionality in the public build could differ
**: due to differences in the 3DS and the WiiU version, importing a converted course file on a foreign platform could crash the game on loading the course

well... it seems like there are some blocks which were removed from the 3DS version, including effects. if I don't zero out the effects then almost every level I try crashes

or if you meant block/effect limits then it shares the max amount with the WiiU version: 2600 tiles and 300 effects max which can be saved, and 0 effects on the 3DS version as it seems to be unimplemented, but it still crashes

Is it finally available in the first post?

Okay, if we ever connect to a Wii U database, we'll need to be able to add a filter so that the courses will be compatible.

you'd need to check the course file server-side or you'd need to download it to check if it's compatible, but it's definitely doable

not yet, but there's private beta on my Discord server where some people willing to corrupt their savefiles (which won't happen because you can just cryptofix your save) are testing the latest features before it's bug-free

Maybe make it so that any site we use has an automatic tag for the missing course blocks.

Also, how does the app work? Is it entirely through another site or would one be able to just put courses on an SDcard and make another person directly put it back on their game?

I read the course data (can be 3DS or WiiU, doesn't matter) into memory, then I call the respective function (CourseImportWUP for WiiU and CourseImportCTR for 3DS) to import the course data into a slot. if the slot is empty then it'll use the smallest available file to store the data

it'll work the same way online, except that you read the course data via internet, and not from the SDCard

Existing 3ds saves mean, existing levels, right?

yes. you need to export one of your savefiles which you'll have to import every time you want to import a WiiU save. this doesn't apply for 3DS saves, even if it's from another system (untested, but should work)

The only removed items are the mystery and big mushrooms. I'm pretty sure all the effects are there.

I made a new version of the logo, I didn't resize it yet though.

I posted raw levels a few pages back if you want to test on those

Made some menu buttons for it, you can use them if you'd like.

I'd really like to use these, but considering how primitive and utterly disgusting my user interface is I doubt I'll be able to use these without rewriting the entire user interface (which is a hacked together clusterfuck which doesn't even support DPAD navigation)

Why not just have it text based?
