Who thinks bringing their 3ds to the pool is a good idea?

My cousin spilled root beer on her 3ds xl while she was at the pool (don't ask me why she had it at the pool, that's beyond me too), and while it was there the charger light was on despite it not being plugged in. I took it home, completely disassembled it, dried everything off, completely reassembled it, and it still doesn't work. The charger port light isn't on anymore, but the 3ds turns on, stays on for about a second and a half, the speakers pop at the end of that 1.5 seconds and then it shuts off after it's done making noise. Any ideas on what I might've fucked up on re-assembly, or where we could get a (preferably downgradable) motherboard as a replacement? Thanks!

Oh, and as a note- I took it apart and dried it within the same day it was spilled, about 3-4.5 hours after it was spilled. I tried to get her to give it to me sooner, but she refused because she was with her friends. If the time frame matters a whole lot, there ya go.

wait, that's it?

I can take it apart, fix that and it might work?

Also, which cable is the 3d cable? the one above or below the motherboard? Because BOTH of those were bitches to put back
Lol...check both of them. Thats the issue though.

ironically, I completely re-dismantled it again, and completely re-assembled it again. Maybe I'm just not doing them good enough, but I noticed that when I have the 3d slider on the two pops are closer together time-wise compared to when I have the 3d slider off. This means I'm just not connecting them good enough?

And this is why kids are dumb. Why did she bring it to the pool? It's like it's very useful there. Why did she just leave it where the elements could get to it? Do you want ants? Because that's how your 3DS gets ants!
