Not only will we have new peripherals, but Nyko’s first entry into whole product categories. ...A handheld peripheral to overcome a blatant Nintendo oversight
Link

Let the guessing begin.

People are saying a better Circle Pad Pro attachment, but that's already a product so...

I actually have no idea what this could be.

2 little rubber feet which can be attached to the top of the screen to prevent scratching the screen when closing the system. :D

Everyone assumes this is for the 3DS, but I don't see where Nyko said it will be.

Though, it if is, I'm betting either a half-assed CPP clone or another battery pack add-on. Maybe a combination of the two.

I'm very happy with the PowerPak+, so I'm really wondering what this new peripheral is. Hopefully it'll be a Circle Pad Pro that fits with the PowerPak+.

3DS Consoles, Accessories, and Hardware section here.

"a handheld peripheral"

"overcome a blatant Nintendo oversight"

Let's see. The only current Nintendo handheld is the 3DS. Nyko wouldn't waste their money making something for a dead horse.

The only other possible "handheld" Nintendo has, if you REALLY want to push it, is the Wii U controller. Which isn't out yet.

So, Nintendo handheld = 3DS.

well everyone assumes it would be the 3ds bc it is talking about handhelds and nintendo. i guess they COULD make it for the nds but it doesnt seem likely with the 3ds being the new one of the bunch.

edit:
missed the post above

Probably just some combination of their power-pak, grips, and a good placement for the second analogue stick.
I cannot imagine it would be easy though, the circle pad pro also adds two shoulder buttons, and covers the cartridge slot.

Maybe something that slots over the topscreen to make the 3D viewable at ANY angle? im not sure how something like that would work but hell, if they managed to pull off something like that then id buy it.

Better (slimmer) battery that slots in nicely without compromising the feel of the 3DS would be an instant buy for me and if they managed to find a case that has a 2nd analog that slides just under the ABXY buttons then that would be great.

All 3 = SOLD!

I highly doubt that would work, but it would definitely be cool

Also really cool!

That's PRECISELY what I was thinking! Not to mention that I believe that would be completely possible to do! Finally, I would have incentive to play Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D! :yaynds:

All 3 = SOLD!
Indeed! :D

A blatant Nintendo oversight?

I can see...

A CPP which is up to 40% slimmer with a built in battery.

A CPP with a battery BUT the ability to reinsert game carts with that shit on.

Or both.

Nyko has a Circle Pad Pro attachment?
No, I understood it as Nyko is making something completely new for the system, but that probably isn't the case...
