Hardware Nyko Frontman Guitar questions

Ok, got this one for my wife for xmas... the white one with the pink pick guard...

Now, I noticed a small black over on the side near the bottom... I opened it up, and there's an ethernet connector inside! WTF! Why would I need to connect an ethernet (network) cord to my Wii guitar...

Does anyone know what this does, or why it's there?

I checked the Nyko website, and it's not even listed that it exists (the port), and nothing in the manual...

Haha I noticed that too...I was like WTF!!! Let me know if you lost connection sometimes while you are playing. Its happened to me a few times, especially when Im using 2 of them.

Ok this is from an IGN review for the PS3 version about the port.

"There's also a port on the Frontman for future peripherals like effects pedals, but as of yet, there's no word from the game developers or Nyko as to when such extras might be released."

It seems to glitch fairly often in RockBand 2, but in GH Aerosmith, and World Tour, it works perfect... bought it new from GameStop for $29.99

How about for $20. They have the same one at BJ"S wholesale club for $20.

The normal GH guitars (both GH3 and 4) also have that port on the bottom.

I bought one during Black Friday on amazon.com for $10.
Best. Deal. Ever.

And it works fine for both GH and RB2.

About the disconnection problem, I got that too at first but for some strange/odd reason it was from connecting to one of the Wii Remote. I just change to another remote and never have the problem again. You should give that a try.
