Very good idea to select different aspect ratios during playback.

At the moment, we use mpv.conf file with fixed aspect ratio (video-aspect=16:9) to get wide screen for older movies, but this is not perfect, because it is fixed to 16:9.
To help with low firmware issues, (honestly should use title override for accessing homebrews so you have more ram) but you could make an emunand and update it to latest firmware.

@proconsule54 if you wanted to go through the trouble for testing on lower firmware, you could make an emmunand and downgrade it.

Going bed now, very late here in Italy.

You are from Italy and thus missed such a great opportunity to call this PineapplePizzaPlayer or VaffanculoVideoPlayer?

Bruh.

Jokes aside - is there a place in todo list for integrating opensubtitles downloading with language selection? It would basically last feature man can need.

The TODO list is very big, and adding too many features in a single version may lead to unstable results (hard to fix).
I prefer adding features, make micro version until is very stable and then restart to add features.
any idea will be in my TODO list but the priority can change.

Once I needed a media player app... Ended up disappointed because the needed feature was missing.
Please consider usage of Dock ports (when console is docked).

Just disable screen dimming in Switch options before playing any movie and you should be good to go.
not needed anymore when 0.3.0 will be released (just some minutes to wait)
Dimming fixed as i report to OS that is a media playback.
Dimming is renabled on media stop (so it works only on menus)

Thank you king.

Will you publish your app to HBappstore? It would be nice to have PineapplePizzaPlayer there for ease of life.
