finally unveiled on the 26th. 480 is going to directly compete with the 5870 at $499, the 470 competing with the 5850 at $349.
its quite disappointing for the most part they have similar performance compared to their competitors, sometimes beating the competing cards by 10-20% but also losing that much in a couple games. some think that ati loses a bit of performance at higher resolutions as the 480 ships with 1.5gb~ while the 5870 ships with 1gb. though ati are bringing out 2gb 5870's soon.
but then again, huang already stated that nvidia are looking at a more work orientated platform with the fermi chipset. heck the 480 folds 4x as fast as the 295.

its going to be interesting to see how ati respond. they already are bringing out that 2gb 5870. hopefully a decent sized price drop again.
