I got an action replay from one of my friends, which is compatible with NTRboot
So, I followed this tutorial
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-ntrboot-for-r4igoldcc-ards-ez-ardsi.483802/

And then I went back to the "Installing boot9strap (ntrboot)" section in the 3ds.hacks.guide
But, when I put the magnet near the 3DS and held the required buttons, it acted normal! I removed the magnet and it went back to the home menu...
But the action replay icon was missing so... what could've happened?
Yes I have all the files in my SD card
Yes, I flashed NTRboot into my AR
YES, the magnet works!

pls help me, I'm so close to CFW

Had the AR been proven to work with ntrboot before? Or are they just going with its compatible since the picture was shown on the page?

With the AR method, you have to place SafeB9SInstaller as ntrboot.firm on the root of the SD card

Are you holding the magnet and pressing the buttons when the console is off or in sleep mode?
I'm holding the buttons while the console is off and then I hold them until the installer boots up, but it doesn't
Instead, the system boots up and then goes in sleep mode right away!

that's what I meant to say, in the sticker.
I'll try it out!

Still nothing! To be fair, I DID flash the action replay and yes, the boot.firm is ntrboot.firm!
Whenever I leave the magnet on my 3ds, I hold the button combination while it boots up with sleep mode.
But the only thing it does is boots the 3ds and then goes into sleep mode right away...

BTW, when I exit sleepmode, the card icon is missing so yes, it's ntrboot-flashed!

What should I do?

(Useless info: I also have a 2DS which doesn't require a magnet but the sleep switch broke)
I should have a magnet around here... hmmm...

Does ntrboot require a strong connection with the magnet?
Because the dsi xl's magnet DID put my 3DS into sleep mode...
It requires the magnet to be strong enough to keep the 3DS in sleep mode while you turn it on. Also, did you rename safeb9sinstaller to ntrboot.firm?

...except I don't have any STRONG magnets around here :(
I've never said this before, but please get your life together before wasting our time again. It doesn't require that strong a magnet. If you are really short on megnets you can easily buy some decent ones from any store that sells office supplies. Hell you might even get one for free from the back of some displays if you ask. I got small neodymium magnets for free just by asking if I could take them from the displays.
