1. Why do certain games not work with it?

2. Is there a way to improve FPS without a wired connection?

3. It's always been playable. :/

1: some games temporarily disconnect the consoles wifi.

2: move computer or 3DS closer to router, or both, use a hotspot from your PC if the pc is closer then the router
- Change quality of service to 100
- Quality to 80%
- priority factor to 2

3: are you using kit-kat or nitrostreamer?

For kitkat to load pokemon su/mo
-Load the ntr cfw
-Load su/mo
-Enter your save file till you see your character on the overworld.
-Hit home buttom
-Click connect on kit-kat

Nitrostreamer you need to apply the (!) patch before clicking connect

Hopefully @ShinyMK could improve kitkat to allow the same arguements as NTR viewer, as im using that.
