I agree with you that the first suggested one you listed would look better. Also, it appears that the limit for how long a .nsp file can be is 67 letters. If it exceeds that, then it gives an error. Most games are already under that limit, but some that I've installed do have longer names then that and I have to manually rename them in order to install them. It would be great to have the program do this by default for any .nsp file if that's possible.

Still not working.

Latest version asks me if I want to download titlekeys.txt. Pressing yes doesn't do anything.
I select the folder my 3 .nsp. They are found. I setup how I want to rename them. Select "only rename".
Press "move/rename" and then "Run time error "53" File not found". Press OK, and it shuts down.

This is the content of my .ini

[Text for Update and DLC]
Update=UPD
DLC=DLC
[Naming]
1=Name
2=ID
3=Version
4=Update/DLC
[Use for]
Game=1
Update=1
DLC=1
[Directory]
Source=F:\NSP_Rename\test
Destination=F:\NSP_Rename
[Move Copy Rename]
Action=Rename
[Cut files to 67 chars]
Cut=1

I have a japanese windows 7.

Thanks! Version 1.0.9 works perfect, and renaming using "Name-Update/DLC-ID 16-Version", CDNSP-GUI-Bobv4 recognize the downloaded NSP.

Yes Bobs Gui is a great thing.
I was thinking about adding a "Generate BOBs installed.txt" button :D to generate a a compatible list even if your names are not.

Last edited by PrixM,
That would be an awesome feature.
Updated the BOB Function (mini errorfix. BOBs Gui didnt find/show the error:lol: but i found him)
Now shows also old updates if you have Update e.g. v65536 & v131072 for the same game.

New Version with new functions uploaded

New functions in Errorlog
Show file in Explorer
Show all files in Explorer
Delete file
Open Nintendos webpage for file

Gamelist creation as CSV,XML,HTML,XLS (Source to List Button)

Short Names is now Length + Textbox
Now you can set the max length for filenames
If a path + filename in total is longer 67 chars the switch wont install it
You get Installation failed code 00002
Set your own value if you use subdirs

The latest version is offline in the first post, could you reupload?

I found a little error. By default, the renaming syntax is:

%Name% %Type%[%ID16%][v%Version%]

Which should rename exactly like a file downloaded from CDNSP. But it creates a space between Type and ID16 which isn't there usually. For example:

Ikaruga [UPD] [01009f20086a0800][v65536] (renamed with NSP Rename 1.1.0)
Ikaruga [UPD][01009f20086a0800][v65536] (downloaded from CDNSP)

This is no error.
You (or better i/Default config) have a space after [UPD] and there is also a space after [DLC]
Text in Box Update = "[UPD] " but you want "[UPD]"
Only remove it in the textbox and the result is like you want it :D

Aaah I see, haven't noticed the space there! Thank you!
You're welcome

Maybe i change this for the next version.
Or i find a way to make it a little bit more vissible.

Next version will be much faster getting the infos from the nsp and you can name the required firmware version.

@Thandor Didn't find a good way to make the spaces visible.

New version is online.
Getting infos from a NSP now takes only half the time it took bevore.
Needed firmware as naming criteria. Its also in the lists you create.

It depends how you use the nsp.
Some tools need spezial name format to run correct. (e.g. BOBs CDNSP Gui)
Switch wont work with NSP filenames longer than 67 chars
