wait. would this work for an existing official game for example? Like, Bravely Default II I dumped from my official eShop copy from SysNAND onto EmuMMC. Video recording is disabled. Can I use this to enable Video Recording?
Nop, this is for creating forwarders to NROs. The NSP should be edited or patched to enable video recording

damn. How would I even do that? :(
you need to decompile the nsp and extract the control.nacp file, then you used hxh a hex editor and edit the nacp file in offset 0x3035 the possible values are the following 00 = video recording not permitted, 01 = manual recording, and 02 = force recording. then you rebuild nsp and that's it.

could you please explain what manual recording and force recording are?

The software running on the Switch have to inform to the system which type of recording will allow, there are differents levels:

Not Recording at all (do not allow screen capture nor video saving)
Screen Capture (manual capture) allows screen capture but no video saving.
Force recording, Allow Screen capture and video saving.

So this is making forwarders with save files that are 64.1mb they're actually bigger than the NSP itself and they're bigger than most games save files.

I have never been able to use any NSP forwarder properly, mainly because I have no clue how these Keys files work. Anyone know what to do?

You can always read the documentation in this case you need to copy your dumped keys to the same folder as hacktool or copy to the %USERPROFILE%\.switch folder
You can dump using the LOCKPICKRCM payload

Thank you, I got the keys files working

I did just that, my games works fine but not my hbmenu.nro forwarder. Tried to remake it just like I used to and it still doesn't work, that's why I am asking the question here but it seems to work for everyone else so I really don't know where this is coming from
