I can't save my bress file in BrawlBox. It says someting about parameters being missed. The word key is also there.
I don't understand why it won't work. I'm on a vista pc. Could that be a problem.

I'm having the exact same problem.... It would be great if someone knew what to do.

Use Smash Box instead. Works great.
Now I have this problem...
I get an error when I try to save saying:
"Pointer startIndex and length do not refer to a valid string.
Parameter name: ptr"

Thank you for the very informative thread VILE.

I don't get the people talking shit in here. They wouldn't know a thread that contributed positively to the forum even if they walked right into one, which they did.

In case anyone is too lazy to unpack and convert the files themselves:

You don't have to worry about the legality as the data for these images in png format do not appear in the game's disc.

Still illegal. Thats like saying you can share a ripped movie in MP4 format, because MP4 isnt on the DVD. You cannot legally share copyrighted content regardless of whether you have decrypted it, converted it, encrypted it with your own key and made a custom format to convert it into, whatever - its still illegal.

Found SmashBox v0.52b.zip on the far reaches of the internet which did the trick with the brres file. Looks like new versions broke some support.
U8 me to turn it back into a .arc. With LZ compressing I assume?

I'm re-hosting it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?3jmmmxzd25y

Either way, after sticking the new arc in there with WiiScrubber, dolphin crashes when the new texture in loaded. What am I missing here? I would really appreciate the help.

As for hosting the pictures and the illegality, I'm not a lawyer but I did study a years of business civil law. There is really no precedent to say ripping and sharing things from games you own is illegal. A music parallel would be that a Gamerip soundtrack is not an OST. If you could cite a case or statute it'd make a bit more sense than just "no its illegal." The law isn't as logical here as you'd think and varies heavily with country.

Use SZS Modifier instead, lets you insert your new textures & saves just fine.

Kind Regards, SPAN...

Wow this is annoying.

SZS Modifier only uses tex0 raw data textures. It's difficult for it not to complain about size being too big/small just converting.

Use smashbox to import a texture into a dummy copy of the brres. Open the dummy brres with SZS modifier, extract it, use SZS to import what you just extracted into a new fresh brres.

Way more complicated than it needs to be but it works. God help me when I want to edit the title screen or TPL files.

Ok I'm a little noobish when it comes to this but where do the heck do I find the .arc file?....

Open NSMB ISO with the wiscrubber, go to "stage".
Arcs files are all there, click the right mouse button and select extract.
??!
