Does anyone know if hi res tex packs work now?
I think I remember Emukidid saying ages ago that with the Rice plugin would come Texture Packs but they would need to be made into Wii64 specific packs? (I hope/think I'm not making this up lol)No word yet that I know, but it's worth the shot.
I doubt it'd work right out of the box though.
I remember I downloaded texture packs for SM64 and both Zeldas right when the 1.2 announcement for texture packs was made...
Well, half a decade later and we might just be able to see if we can test them
I can't recall, it was so long ago that the official Wii64 page is not even up anymore to take a look as reference.I think I remember Emukidid saying ages ago that with the Rice plugin would come Texture Packs but they would need to be made into Wii64 specific packs? I found the blog post they made. It is from 2011 thoughI can't recall, it was so long ago that the official Wii64 page is not even up anymore to take a look as reference.
Well, it’s been a while since our last blog post and real life has been hectic for all of the Wii64 Team, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve been idle. There are some exciting developments behind the scenes that you can all look forward to. Something that we’ve really been looking forward to is porting a second video plugin to GC/Wii. Rice’s video plugin offers better speed, support for some ucodes that are missing in glN64, and support for community-made texture packs. We’ve been hard at work porting this plugin to Wii64, and we’ve got a couple preliminary screenies for you to enjoy below.
Nice!I found the blog post they made. It is from 2011 though
Yeah I may have got that info mixed up with another N64 related thing from back thenNice!
Still no mention of special conversions or anything...
Then again, no mention on how it could work to even try to test it
Is the boxart.bin preview enabled? If so how does it work?Didnt really do anything with the wii64 beta 1.2 in the last week so I just pushed up a version to at least have a build up.
https://github.com/FIX94/Wii64/releases
compiled both rice and gln64 versions are included in that, so you can play around with it.
oh, also to use sync by VI, open your sd:/wii64/settings.cfg in some editor and set "LimitVIs" to 1, to use sync by audio instead, set it to 0. By default I have it compiled right now to sync by audio, to me that just seems like the better choice
Maybe next we can get rid of that awful ear-rape inducing linear audio interpolationI do have plans for that yea, I just wanted to at least have something up for now really.
Awesome! Gonna try this out myself!Pokemon Puzzle League is playable now. You just can't see the FMVs.
You betSo simply said, the current build FIX94 provided with updated video plugins is now better compatible with games then Not64?
Didn't expect an update to ever come anymore.
yeah rice seems t o get stuck after finishing a mission what you do is go to menu and restart the game and then start on mission 2 directly since it saves them.I'm stuck at the end of the first mission results screen, in Perfect Dark, left it running about 10 minutes and nothing, though interpeter mode would fix it but nope. I'm using wii64 rice.
your wong fix94 build is emukids work alone, he didnt implemented his fix yet since he found out they break some stuff on rice on the emukids release fix only did the gamepad controls. You bet
I assume emukidid released what they had (or where they left off) from the Wii64 1.2 Beta, and Fix94 implemented those changes from the 1.2 beta alongside the ones form Not64 without requiring an special compiler.
So yup, at the moment I'd say Fix's is the best build for N64 on Wii/Wii U
