Not understanding basic text hacking.....

    So, I'm doing TLoZPH, and I'm simply doing the opening movie text (demo.bmg) for starters (with one change).
    I think my problem is pointers, but tbh, I'm not even sure if that's the correct terminology.

    What's happening is I add a letter to a word:
    .1.2.3 (0031 0032 0033) -> .1.2.3.4 (0031 0032 0033 0034)

    It works just fine, and the text switches to the next screen, just fine.
    The problem is then, the game switches both the picture and the screen, and I get 'No Message' and a continual list of text strings where they shouldn't be.

    My only idea is this is caused by 0003 (which unicode says is 'end of line' which I find on some transitions that switch text and picture).

    What am I supposed to look for, and what do I do with it once I find it?
