This is outstanding news! This will definitely flourish the Vita scene with new folk curious explore it and try it out!

If you don't already have a Vita, write it down on your bucket list to get one! You won't regret it; it already has plenty of breathtaking games to try out! :)
Had one since day one. I never had a single regret!

Yeah. The Vita scene is like a turbulent tide. There is no coasting on this surfboard of a scene.

It went faster (not including ePSP hacks and Rejuvinate) then any other.

Recently got one, Minecraft and LBP.
I'm really looking forward to play Uncharted and Trillion on it tho.

Yifan confirmed that at least one scene is 'legit' over at Reddit.
Anyways, we still probably won't see any piracy for a couple of months as according to wololo none of the parties are interested in releasing their method yet.

With few Vita games being made and those are not available at Walmart or Target forcing people to go to GameStop, Piracy will not do much to the flow (or lack of) games being released .

Even Sony considers the Vita as legacy equipment so I think this is great to help boost the sales of the Vita hardware.

So glad I got my PSTV when I did. I just want to download some of the more expensive import games like Taiko V and IA VT Colorful. Everything else, I'll buy it and support the devs.

The moment there is a nice standard way to load backups I will purchase a new Vita and a 32GB memory card.

People, you can add and delete games as you finish them.

This might make buying ps4 games worth it for me. I'll be more tempted to fork out that £55 for a game if I know I can also get the vita version for nothing :P

I guess what I need to decide is buy more Vita games or wait two months and get them all for free.
Two months? We probably won't even have to wait that long. It'll leak or be officially released in five hours. Although a week or three is a better estimate.

If only the 3DS scene worked this fast. Is Nintendo's security really that much better than Sony, or do people just not care about Nintendo anymore?

notsureifbeingsarcasticbut The Vita's security is the tightest to ever grace the console market, according to YifanLu's blog. Henkaku opened up a floodgate and caused a stilling river to become tempestuous.

Piracy is more rampant in the Nintendo scene.
95% of the users that have access to homebrew only do it cause of the piracy.

Atleast, that's the entire image around it.

Vita scene is just playing catch up. 3DS has been hacked for more than two years now and is still going strong.
I'm not a Vita person, so excuse me if I'm horribly wrong, but... IIRC henkeku was userland, or at least not full access. We're able to decrypt games now, too, leading to piracy. That'd be like running 3DS ROMs from a .3dsx.
Ps vita ain't getting downgrade anytime soon tho
We already have homebrew and possible piracy on the second to newest firmware (3.61 patched it, right?)

If we can decrypt Vita ROMs with the tightest security ever and run them through userland henkaku, then why hasn't warez on 3DS userland been a thing? With things like HANS being able to patch code and romfs, it should be able to work (can we not replace exheader or something?) but apparently that's out of the question.
