I was thinking about this last week. I think it would be reasonable to think that full speed is achievable for 2D games.

And for 3D games, maybe with Wii U overclock.

Would there be an option to be able to switch screens with a button while only having one visible on screen?

I think borrowing elements from some older emulators might be worthwhile, since they're based on older architecture; in this case, I'm referring to what works (well, I'm not a programmer).

I think it would be interesting to see these layouts (ignore the Gamepad):

- Two screens stacked vertically, as it works currently.
- Side-by-Side

- Side-by-Side rotated 90º / 180º
- Single upper screen.
- Single lower screen.

Upper screen bigger, Lower screen on a small square on the corner.

This. Totally agree. Maybe button combination or something. A menu with the home button (appart from quiting the emulator or even the game) would be nice, but achieving this quickly without menus would be super. Maybe a combination? or being able to set shortcuts... idk

A button combo would be perfect to change it in realtime, as you could need it mid-gameplay.
