Sorry, guys, you may call me lazy ass, but I'd like to know what should I do to play Castlevania and Contra Reborn on the Wii. Now I have WiiKey 1 modded console, no softmods, no stuff like that, the FW version is 3.4E. What's the easiest way for me to play them?

The easiest way is to update to 4.2

'Cause I thought 4.2 is the hardest to deal with in terms of hacking. Am I wrong on this?

If not, the easiest is to update

Just an update on my earlier problem with wiiflow. When i was batch installing the wads for the cioses i didnt see that it was giving me an error for the 249. This made me go back and check to see if the trucha bug got installed correctly. It wasnt, so i retried it worked fine and everything after is history.

Making a NAND Backup (LU64 4.2 U)

I was only able to install Bootmii as an IOS

I read that installing bootmii as an IOS you can not do a NAND restore?

I am running priiloader (so i can get to HBC always?)

Can you or can you not do a NAND restore when Bootmii can only be installed as an IOS?

I found it, sorry for the stupid post..


bootmii as boot2 is the ultimate brick protection

second best protection is bootmii as ios combined with priiloader

So I guess I could restore my NAND after all, if bootmii can only be installed as an IOS

When we tried installing bootmii to boot2 it said we were successful but whenever i turn on my Wii it never loads it(we also did the whole prepare the sd card part of the process). check on sd://bootmii/bootmii.ini setting. edit the boot delay time to 5sec or up to your convenient delay time to access bootmii menu. or you could use an app called bootmii configuration editor whcih you could find here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/BootMii_Configuration_Editor. run this app using HBC of course.

Trying to get usb loader gx to work

My Wii is 3.4U
I bombbanner and installed hackmii and the 3 things on it
I installed cIOS38r14 *online method* (usb loader still didnt work)
Then installed Hermes cIOS *online method* (usb loader still didnt work)
Then went back and tryed Trucha Bug and downgraded to IOS15 installed IOS36 *online method*
Then homebrew channel went upsidedown

Should i reinstall the homebrewchannel using the bombanner and hackmii again
then do the Trucha Bug first then hermes

Or does someone have a better idea?

when I softmodded my wii, it was on 3.2.

my friend's wii was on 2.1, so I needed to update the firmware to make bannerbomb work. and the easiest (that I though of) was to update it with nintendo's updater to 4.2. (I now realize that was a bit stupid). Though, now I have bootmii installed as boot2 and HBC. cannot install custom IOS. what should I do?

Hi Everyone! My first time posting to this board.

I've successfully installed homebrew channel, and have gotten everything working the way I want it to, going back and forth between coverfloader and uloader. WOW i love this system now! (btw if anyone has suggestions for alternate loaders... I'm looking for something with the good looks of coverfloader and the compatibility of uloader)

I have one backup that isn't working however. When I drag my legostarwars.iso into WBFS for Mac, it fires through queuing window almost instantly and makes the "done!" chime right away . It doesn't appear in the file list, so clearly something went wrong with the transfer... but it doesn't give me any error messages! I've done this successfully with many other backups, it's just this one that's problematic.

One difference with this and other ISOs is that this one I can mount. Double click legstarwars.iso and it mounts in OSX very nicely... which does not happen with other Wii ISOs - OSX usually complains that it can't find any mountable filesystems. This makes me wonder if the ISO is supposed to have some special format - WBFS perhaps?

I'm a professional *nix admin, so I'm perfectly adept at these things, but there's a lot of information I'm missing here. Can anyone provide some guidance? Is there a "converter" app out there to take ISOs to WBFS-ISOs? Is there something else I'm missing? Today I'll try burning the ISO to see if I can play it homebrew that way. Pain in the ass to have to use disks, though.

what do your mean update to 4.2? through ninty? i would suggest you just do the update by using the guides at the stickies here to update to 4.2. btw. better state what you have messed up and maybe i could help you out with that.

Install patched ios and press A.
i choose downloading from nus.

Then it says: initialising network...
After a while it gives error -116
Error rading ios into memory
