So how would I go about updating my wii if I haven't touched my softmod wii since 3.4E or so?
I have hbc installed and just want to play my backups of the latest games so which guide should I follow?
 
Hmmm

Bootmii still won't work.
Installed as IOS, succesfull.
Then in HBC i press button B.
Choose bootmii.

And then, i get a blank screen with flashing dvdslot led.
Just like what happened before.

just a quick question here easy to answer but i don't know the answer : when we do a nand backup, if i want to put it on my PC, have i just to put the nand.bin and key.bin files or do i have to put the bootmii folder too ?
 
Will it work if i use the same bootmii folder for all wiis i mod ? i mean, if i copy my bootmii folder will it work if i try to use it on my sister's wii ?

And i have a problem with Mario Galaxy, i installed IOS35 and IOS33 on my cousin's wii and it do not work .. he come in the 7th World and then it's black screening and cannot poweroff the wii, he must unplug his wii .. what could be the problem ? i think my ISO is okay, i use to download all my games on the same website and all my games worked perfectly, but this one is bugging on this step ..

Hello, i'll make this quick.

I need to update my Wii from 3.1U to 3.2U and i do not have internet on my Wii. So i can't update using the CIOS downgrader or any other online methods. I've been told that i need to use NUS Downloader and download IOS30-64-v1040.wad and System Menu-NUS-v289.wad. Then i was told to install them with Wad Manager. Will this work? Or will it brick my Wii? If it won't work are there other ways to get to 3.2U offline?

You can use the bootmii folder on any wii I think as long as bootmii is installed in the wii

could just be a bad ISO try one from a different site

yes that method is sound(install IOS first) but you could always find a original disk with the 3.2U update on and update via disk
 
Hey guys,

About to receive a brand new JP Wii (Black) for Christmas.
Figure I can follow any of the 4.2 guides to soft-mod, but as I'm in Australia I'd love to have the 4.2E or 4.2U firmware instead so I can have my Wii in English - any way to achieve this?

Also, is there any way to tell if I have this new DVD drive that can't read DVD-/+Discs?

your sd card mustn't be compatible with bootmii
 
i have a 4.2U problem to mod a wii, i'm not even able to install the HBC, it has been updated by the Nintendo Update before i could do the softmod, so it is a virgin wii that as been updated to 4.2U, what could i do to modify this wii if i can't install the HBC ? i used this tutorial : http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 i e-mailed [email protected] and used the folder but when i open the Wii Channels manager, i'm getting a ? symbol and the screen do not pop up .. what could i do ?

use the little sd card on the main menu
 
Thank You, then, now, just a little question, maybe stupid but i don't know, i didn't modify any 4.2U Wii from now so, when the stub IOS are removed, have i to install the cIOS rev14 waninkoko to play backup or on this wii menu version i don't have to do that ?
