Hi !

Sorry if my message is not on the good discussion and sorry for my english too.
I want to buy "Animal crossing" (physical version) but the only back up is on the switch.
I would like to know if there is a way to make a back up on an external support (hard disk or USB key) ? I've been searching, but I can't find anything :(
If "yes" could you give me a link to know how to do it ?
Thank you for all you do for the players !!!

I think you mean NAND backup right?
if yes take your sd card out and put in your PC/Notebook. There should be a folder in the root called "backup". Just back up that

Hi !
Thanks for the answer.

In fact, what I'd like is to be able to save a switch game (Animal Crossing) that doesn't offer any other save than that of the Switch on a HDD or an USB Key...If it's possible.

Like I understood,

You will get a physical Animal crossing right? So the game save will be on your switch.... You can easy backup the game save with tools. Im sorry I dont know where the problem is

I read your fist text again and you want something on a external device(HDD/USB) a backup. But what kind of a backup? Gamesave or NAND?

I would like a game save : transfer back up of my save from Switch to an external support, if it's possible.
Thanks for your help.

Everthing is okay. Everyon has his/her first time :P like me

So to make it more clearly now. You want to back up your current saves on a external device(HDD/USB) to avoid the mix up with the animal crossing save, right?

Does not your Switch have enough free space for keeping all game saves and animal crossing save?

No, in fact I want to have the possibility to transfer my Animal Crossing's save from my Switch (when I'll have the game) to an external support (when I want) because I don't want to lose hundreds hours of gameplay if my switch crashes.
Nintendo says there will be the possibility of asking customer service to retrieve a save from their cloud but I don't trust them, not to mention that we'll probably have to wait and provide proof of the Switch change

Ahh okay I understand now, sorry

I think it isnt possible too say direct where the save should be saved. Look in the data setting in your switch maybe there is something(I would do it by my own but my switch is burned since 3 months) The only option is that I got is, you need to save it everytime by own with the save manager tool. Then you need to backup it from your SD-card

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

    I appreciate the insight!

@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
