My friends tried restoring my psp from a brick and installing 3.8M33 and it worked partly but then it got to the wave thing and all it was doing is moving the waves with no XMB so then we tried 3.8 offical, which was the other of the two main options (other than some sort of dump chocies) and that did the same thing. Why is there no XMB? ;_;

try going to the recovery menu (hold r) when you switch your psp on and try disabling some plug-ins which might stop the xmb from working. that's all i can think of trying.

Thats happened to me once. The pandora got loose while I was installing CFW and all I'd get was a black screen. I installed CFW again and it worked, maybe you should give it another go.
