I have an o3DS on 10.6, but with no browser because a message saying a system update is required to access the browser always pop up whenever I launch the browser. What can I do with this system in terms of downgrading?

What is your full firmware version? All 4 digits.

Okay, everything worked.
But now, I encountered a new problem.
I downloaded all the files required on the 9.2.0 downgrade step of Plailect's guide, placed every folder in the right places, and when I launch PlaiSysUpdater and pressed the prompted button to downgrade to 9.2.0, it says:

Checking for am:u...
Did not get am:u handle!
Attempting svchax...

and just get stuck there.

Power off your 3DS and try again. Follow the guide.

I just did; still no luck.
When in the Homebrew Launcher, open and close an application, like menuhax manager, before going into PlaiSysUpdater. If you still have issues, make sure you've installed menuhax and run PlaiSysUpdater from there.

Loool, I think it didn't work because I did not have menuhax installed, but now, everything's okay. I'm down to 9.2

Thank you to everyone who helped me in this thread

Great. Now you can follow this guide beginning with Part 1 (or Part 3 if you have menuhax working) to install A9LH, which is the recommended way to launch CFW. Alternatively, you can launch CFW with menuhax.

For the part where you have to format twice, is it okay to do it with TinyFormat instead of System Setting?

Follow the guide. It uses the System Settings format for a reason if that's what it says.

Edit: I'm not sure which part of the guide you're even talking about.

Awe, then I don't think I can move forward because the o3DS I am currently attempting to install A9LH on cannot format because it can't connect to the eShop

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Are there any way around the formatting step besides system setting format?

I finished 9.2.0, so I'm going to install RedNand later.
I'm just using my memories and remembered a part where you need to format twice

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I just want to make sure this process goes through safely because the o3DS I want to install A9LH have a handicap of not being able to format via System Settings due to no eShop access

Just follow the guide. Most of the formatting parts I see use TinyFormat.
