I think this is stupid, but i think nintendo has an evil plan against us, first, they made that we need 3.0.1 to play Super Mario Odyssey
But what if now Nintendo makes that we need 5.0.0 to play Super Smash Bros, Metroid 4, Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon?
What is better, homebrew or that games?

I fully expect though it does not matter a ton seeing that 5.0.0 is bound to me modded eventually

Indeed, I initially wanted homebrew for Snes emulation, but ever since I got my Analogue Super NT, that may no longer be the case

Well, I think the "why" is the point of the whole thread.
Updating to use games, or not updating to use homebrew. That's the why.

Just wait for the Xecuter modchip if you're worried about stability improvements getting in the way of your homebrew/piracy.

By the time those games release, it won't matter, 4.1.0 cfw will be out, piracy will be a thing and you will be able to play those games on any firmware. Plus, you will likely be able to install game updates yourself like you could with the Wii U.

Smash and especially pokemon will have some crazy next levels security and firmware requirement. its possibly two of nintendos biggest system sellers after botw/mario.
