Hmm, just installed a Nintendont forwarder for the Wii U homescreen, but when it loads Nintendont it can't seem to detect the USB hard drive for games (which it can do manually launching Nintendont from vWii).

Any help with this? The WiiSXR forwarder does the same thing, cant detect games/bios on USB or save settings to USB, and thats where all my games are stored :<
SD only. Sorry buddy.

wiivc cant see HDDs at all so you have to use the sd card for isos and roms, or install the game inside the vc itself wich would be saved on nand or wiiu formated hdd wich would make an individual channels on your wiiu menu

Hmm, i see. My GC/Wii collection is stored on a HDD, i can access this in Wii Mode on my Wii U via Nintendont/USB Loader.

So my understanding the forwarders atm im using dont allow access to the HDD's? I kinda wanted to use the Wii U gamepad for GC games without having to install a VC inject, guess thats my only option right now?

Thx for help

if you dont want inject then use an sd card that is the only way to have gamepad playable and not installed isos.

Hmm, I see, im not overly bothered about wii u gamepad play to do that yet.

You think the forwarders (nintendont / wiiSXR) would ever be updated to include HDD support? Not holding out for it , just curious.

nope, its not the fowards faults, wiivc inject hijacks the usb storage reading code to read the wiiu nand.

huh, thats unfortunate. you seem to know alot about this. got 1 more Q.

if i played a mario sunshine inject on wiiu, would it display a higher quality picture (albeit very slightly) than running mario sunshine iso from nintendont on vWii? (assuming im looking at the TV)

i have played a few GC injects and they seem sliiightly better.

to that extent, if i ran a PS1 game through the WiiSXR forwarder, would it upres to HD like other VC games, or stick at the same res as the original Wii would display for it?

no wiivc inject is still vwii and vwii still only shows 480p with a tiny very tiny upscale done by wiiu so yeah you wont get 1080p or even 720p just the regular 480p you have on your original wii or vwii, except vwii and wiivc have a tiny upscaller that barely does anything.

wiivc still runs on the gx processor wich can only display 480p

thanks for the info help, is there a gbatemp discord or something?

Nintendont is region free??? like if i put a jpn disc on my wii and click to boot disc will open??

thx
Yes, but if you're using physical memory cards, make sure to have seperate ones for each region because if you have U.S.A. memory card and try to play a japanese game, it'll format your memory card.

But you can safely use the same card for both NTSC-U and PAL games. You only need a separate one for NTSC-J games.

Really? That's interesting. I had the misfortune of having my memory card formatted over a year ago because I didn't know that playing a Japanese game would format it. (doesn't help that I can't read Japanese..)
