that is wrong, "compression" isnt actually compressing and only re-arranging the data for smaller files, it does NOT get slower because of this process, the data only was arranged in such a weird way on disc because discs can read faster from higher offsets, but that does not matter anymore on HDDs since the access time is practically identical on all sectors.

Ah, ok, good to know. I guess it is my pendrive then :)

It´s a sandisk 8 gb Fat32 32k cl.
Will format it and see if It improves. Again, no major problem here, since the games run fine. And I will get a 1 tb external HDD, the usb stick is only temporary, and I'm mostly doing tests for now anyway.

Now I'm starting to get Wii isos to test. Neogamma loads them fine just like nintendont?
Why do you use NeoGamma? That's way outdated, if I'm not mistaken it only supports WBFS format and old builds of DML that force you to have a disc and only run from the SD.

I thought I could only play wii isos with neogamma. Good I have usbloader gx, it wont see my gc games, but I'll try the wii isos i'm getting today. Another thing, games like Xenoblade, Last Story, can I use the classic controller pro or I'm stuck with wiimote+nunchuk?

Wii .iso files need to be run under a cIOS (such as the most recent d2x builds) that's designed to work with them - since Wii games are hardcoded to interact with the hardware via an IOS, (contrast Nintendont and Devolution, which disable AHBPROT and related processes to get direct access to the hardware, using IOS 58 for only a few things) you need one so that DVD drive read requests can be rerouted to USB. The loader simply points the cIOS to the right file, and I don't use Neogamma, so I wouldn't know if it works or not. I use USB Loader GX, personally.

I do recommend Wii Backup Manager to manage your Wii games, though. And use the WBFS format for your games, as it supports the scrubbing of rubbish data and the removal of update partitions without performance penalty. (Don't format the whole drive, this is obsolete and risky, not to mention doesn't play nice with other files... such as Gamecube games)

EDIT: Seems I was ninja'd.

You can use any accessory and controller that the game is compatible with normally. Unfortunately, this means no Wii U Pro Controller. The CC Pro is fine - it's just a normal CC without the analog L or R buttons that no official games ever used.

So It's a must format a WBFS partition only for wii games? What happens if I just put the iso in my Fat32 usb?

No. I specifically said not to do that. Wii Backup Manager allows you to convert your Wii iso files to WBFS format, and you can put those individual WBFS format files onto your FAT32 disc.

And now we're getting really off-topic.

He wasn't saying to format your drive as WBFS (he even said don't format the entire drive, implying NOT to do this), he was saying to use WBM to convert your Wii ISOs to a WBFS file. A WBFS file is a fine format to use for Wii games. Just don't use a WBFS partition, as that's obsolete and pointless to use nowadays.

Yeah, I got it. I Thought wbfs was only a way or formatting a device. Now I know it's also a game format. Then I'll have to get all these games in wbfs format...

^It's not an unreasonable misunderstanding given how many outdated guides there are out there.

You don't need to make a WBFS partition anymore. Instead, your iso files can be in .wbfs format on a FAT32 partition.

I got it, thanx Sj33!!

Also, you don't necessarily need to obtain them in .wbfs format. You can obtain them in any format and transfer them to your HDD in .wbfs format using an application such as Wii Backup Manager.

Although this is all slightly off-topic!

Untill now, everything is working fine with this 8gb stick, except the fmv's on Baten Kaitos and FF CC. The rest, 100% fine.
Now I want to test wii games... That's it...

wii games will always work perfectly because they dont work the same readwise, they arent as speed hardcoded as GC games sloopy codding.

So I must just put the iso/wbfs files on the device and load it via usb loader or wiiflow?
yeah make a folder called wbfs on the root of the device and then name the wbfs the gameid

like ex.
usb:wbfs/RESBP01.wbfs

you can call other game names besides the id i think but you would need to change the options on UGX.

Right. Gonna try it when I get back home!

And about iso files?

GX works out of the box with /wbfs/TitleID.wbfs or /wbfs/folder name/TitleID.wbfs
