it must be i can play rogue squadron II just fine

my settings
everything off except mcemu individual 251 blocks
video forced ntsc
language auto.

ok weird, because it used to work fine with no issues. rogue 3 only had issues before.
this is frustrating now because I just verified the iso. I'll get one off darkwater.
so rogue 2 on my setup worked before the usb change. now it's broken but rogue 3 doesn't crash.
is this because of my elements WD 3.0 drive? all my settings are default.

can anyone else verify rogue squadron working on 3.311. I get a power down message after the screen with all the developer info
it was working for me prior, I'd have to go back and check my post at this point. but nothing for me. sad. I'll definitely have to use an older version because these are the main games I want to play.
or of anything else to try to do? like wit the files for nintendont or???
or guidance on setting up mastermod folder?
thanks

There is two minor issues still:

Luigi's mansion, pikmin movie do not work, but don't crash the game.
Burnout, skybox and vehicle textures being bugged.

Of course last time I tested is v3.306 so I'd to verify :P

That's amazing how far this has come. No need to use either dios mios or devolution.B-)

this. and it's seriously awesome. but I don't think I'm doing something wrong. my rogue 2 ISO worked fine all the way up until this point. I always went back and forth between the two now this is the first time I get that error on that game at all. and it's in the very beginning. rogue III works fine let me say again. it's just rogue II for me. all default settings. version 3.311. using WD elements usb 3.0 drive.
don't know what to do other than downgrade.

i found the crash, the crash only happens if you have mcemu off(using real memory card)

seems it isnt stable when using real memory card which i havent tryed since i dont use my real memory card at all.

Also ppl complaining about rogue squadron 3 load speed you were using real memory cards werent you? the loading time takes 3 times more with real memory cards compared to the mcemu i use.

nope, i was using mcemu. i use my Wii U for nintendont not my Wii . I went back to v296 and the difference in loading times is night and day. Its like going from the ps1 version of a game to the n64 version. (loading time wise)

The funny thing is I thought by combining the Loader and the Kernel, loading time was supposed to be quicker.

People who want to complain about loading times really should play Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex for PS2. That game had the WORST loading times for levels. You are not waiting seconds to load, you are waiting MINUTES for a level to load and gosh forbid you enter the wrong level. Thankfully the loading times were fixed in the GameCube and Xbox versions.

yup, I said I was using a real memory card. all options default. any hope for a fix. I like real stuff. emulated memory card I don't know about that yet.

what's the benefit of emulated memory cards? can you transfer to a disk? I think I have an app to do that with my real memory card. can I transfer my saves from my real card to the emulated space?

this is supposed to emulate a real gamecube right? after all. I thought I was being clear. ;P

I'll have to go back and test 296. that's what I was on my wii before all this hooey.
using a real memory card. gamecube controller. component cables. white old school wii of glory.
311 is a no go for me.

well at this point every game from every region should work perfectly

with the exception of 4 games that run too fast
freekstyle
backyard football
hitman 2
GT cube.

every game besides this 4 should work perfectly.
Don't forget Warrior Blade - Rastan VS Barbarian still runs only with EmuMC and Midway Arcade Treasures 2 still has this noise at the start up, but they're minor nitpicks!

so in the meantime while there's a fix for real memory card users, how do I transfer my save files for use with memory card emulation?

There is a Wii home-brew app that lets you backup you real memory card saves. Don't recall the name of it. Then you can use the Mac version of Dolphin to copy the save to a EmuMC from Nintendont.

Simply start each game with MCEmu on to create the empty save file for each game. Then you can use Dolphin to import the saves to the Nintendont save files.

Someone else should know what else you need to do.

To other helpers: The guy above me uses a Mac so no Windows only apps.

thanks a ton. it's always good to know what you're doing ;) gonna try again with forcing ntsc in the options with using a real memory card to see if that changes anything. I see pedro mentioned that in the original post and it's worth a shot. and if not, I'll just use the emulated memory card, I only got a generic one just in case to have better compat. ha. and it's better with emulated. who would have thought?
I lucked out with this wii too, it's a trooper!
anyways, thanks everybody.

ok here's something I noticed that's interesting with rogue squadron 2 & 3.

on 3.311
with memory card emu on 251
with video to auto or force ntsc. doesn't matter
if you set the game to progressive from the menu in-game
once you reboot nintendont it defaults back to interlace again
I have a save game that was set to progressive and finished the level with no issues!
on both games!

rogue 2 played like a dream! no issues no crashes. load times were super fast too! like none at all.
rogue 3 was much better too. load times were shorter, but still there compared to rogue 2 which was super fast. still not as bad with memory card emu off.

the weird thing here is if I set it to progressive in game then hit the reset button on the wii, it asks me immediately if I want progressive yes or no on rogue 2. if I choose yes, it stays until you reboot nintendont again. then it's interlace once you start back up. rogue 3 doesn't ask you on reset of the wii in nintendont but still retains the progressive setting. once you exit to loader or wii menu it defaults back to interlace.

if I have memory card emu OFF, using my real memory card. with either video set to auto or force ntsc, it ALWAYS asks me about progressive for every game wether or not it's in the menu or supports it.
but saves the progressive setting in the game menu too. even though it asks me on startup.
might this be causing some issues? like if memory emu is off it's forcing progressive. I saw someone else post about black screens and progressive modes.

anyways, it's a little confusing but definitely there.
good to see rogue squadron working awesome though.
just some quirks with the video modes and saving them though.
having to choose progressive everytime is not very awesome.
the real memory card would be just a nice to have I guess in the future.

also was going to use the debugger in the options to hopefully gather some more info
but I guess I don't have sneek setup correctly and it was looking for kenobiwii as well
I'll have to look that stuff up unless someone can point me in the right direction there?
