since i'm from chile i cant buy the mayflash adapter for the classic controllers so. how do i plug a ps2 control to the wiiU? also i have a xbox themed gamepad for the pc, can it work for nintendont? and how do i make my own controller.ini? when i start hidtest it freezes while searching for compatible hids

I dump the game using CleanRip on my wii, shrink it using gcit, convert with DiskEX, rename the folder it creates to the name of the game, and copy and paste to sd/games

currently trying to figure out how to make controller.ini for dualshock 4 then i'l test a few games

This is golden info thank you

What the hell? I plugged in the PS3 controller, loaded Nintendont and pressed the PS button on the controller. Well, I did that, chose a game and the Wii U reset itself. Help? Before that, it said "loading kernel 4" or something like that. What am I doing wrong? The files are all in the right folders as the app does show all the ISO images. When does the PS3 PS button need to be pressed, and in what USB port?

Adeka any insight? How did you get it to run in vWii mode? The stupid thing keeps resetting to the Wii U menu

The wiki said to place the PS3controller.ini in the SD root, which I did, along with the app in apps/nintendon and games/gameID/game.iso as used by DiscEx. I tried pressing the PS button before and after I loaded nintendont; nothing :/

Loading kernel 4 means that a compatible controller is not plugged in. I plug the dualshock3 into the usb port closer to the sd slot. you dont have to hit the ps button at all until the game is boot up. As long as Nintendont can detect that a HID compatible controller is connected then it shouldn't freeze at 4.

make sure your not hitting select at all because that's the button that makes it reboot the system to the wiiU menu

whats the very last screen before it reboots?

That kept happening to me yesterday now its working a lot better.
Maybe try deleting the nincfg.bin from your SD root to reset the settings to default.
Also do not press select...Ive noticed once the game is not running or stuck and press select that triggers the Wii U to reset. If the game is running well holding select for a few seconds resets it...

The PS button should be pressed right after the screen flickers into the game at the part when your usually asked if you want progressive scan yes/no?

Bollocks, no wonder it didn't work. I had it plugged in the top USB port in the back, not the ones near the SD card slot, yikes :P I didn't press select though, that's the weird part, it just reset once I chose a game, but it must have freaked out that it wasn't in the right port, so it reset by default. Anyway, I'll try that port next time, but the PS3 config file is in fact in the SD card root :D

Again, it just reset on its on, I didn't press reset as it wouldn't register the key press since the controller was in the wrong port, I'll place it in the one nearest the SD slot next time. I don derped lol.

sd:/controller.ini file when run on a Wii U, rename your file from PS3controller.ini to controller.ini

found your problem when you inboxed me

you need to rename the ps3.ini to controller.ini and place it in the root of your sd
Yeah, I didn't feel the necessity to send a PM, so I deleted it since it was a waste of time :P But yeah, I'll need to change the file to that name. Derp :P

You're fast...that was my next suggestion. I wanted to go into my card and double check first though.

make sure to test wind waker first to confirm you have it working before you starting testing other games

Crud, gotta upload that to my SD card. Makes sense though. That's just for the sake of convenience I assume?

Well if you can't get WW to load then nothing else is going to load because WW has the best compatibility

make sure your using DiskEX to convert

Oh, I did, all the ISO images on my SD were converted with that :P If it doesn't work, where do I go from there? I mean, it's supposed to work I thought...

If it doesn't work....don't ask me

it SHOULD work because when its checking errors it goes from -1 to 6 (or 5 if MC emulation is turned off). most people that have problems have -1 and 1 errors. Your looking pretty good because you said it went all the way to 4 until you got an error. error 4 is really easy to fix to.

But yeah, I'll try the right USB port next time, and change the ini file to controller.ini :D I'm surprised it reset without me doing anything.

Just to know: Memory Card Reading is broken? He seems to not recognize my MC on slot A.
Otherwise WW works fine on my Wii
