Hello, I have configured a controller.ini file for my Hori Battle Pad For Switch usb gamepad.
According to HID-test it works fine with this controller.ini file. All buttons are configured correctly.
But it still does not work at all in Nintendont.
Do I have to do anything else with Nintendont to make it work? I mean except putting the controller.ini into root folder.

Try removing controllers folder if you have it on your SD

I can't get any of the controller.ini files to register. I've tried putting them in every possible folder, and have removed any "controllers" folders on my SD. The controller is a ds3 and it works fine otherwise but I'd just like to remap the face buttons. Any ideas?

New user here. I am currently working on getting the 8BitDo M30 Genesis controller working on the Wii. I wanted to use it for the Sonic Mega and Gems Collections, and it connects just fine in D-Input mode. I've nearly got it down, but I'm encountering problems with the D-Pad. Let me just post the values first.

00 02 0F 7F 7F 7F 7F 00 FF Right Shoulder (R)

There are several hexes after this that are not used.

Note that you can swap the sticks and dpad by holding Mode + Up (D-Pad), Mode + Left (Left Stick) and Mode + Right (Right Stick).

So far I have been able to map the buttons and sticks properly, but the D-Pad values always turn out...odd. Here's my controller file so far:

[8BitDo Genesis M30]
VID=2DC8
PID=5006
Polltype=1
DPAD=0
A=0,02
B=0,01
X=0,80
Y=0,10
Z=1,04
L=0,08
R=0,40
S=1,08
Left=2,06
Down=2,02
Right=2,04
Up=2,00
StickX=3
StickY=4
CStickX=5
CStickY=6
LAnalog=9
RAnalog=A
DigitalLR=1
MultiLineIn=C,01
Power=D,01
MultiIn=E,01

I wasn't sure what MultiLineIn, MultiIn and Power did, so I just linked them to unused values.

Okay, now for the issue. With this particular setup, Left, Down, and Right are all positive, and Up is negative. When pressed, Left has no effect, Right changes itself negative, Up turns all negative, and Down turns itself negative. What exactly is going on here?

Also, the buttons work just fine when the controller file isn't present in the SD card, but once it is, they aren't recognized...most of the time. In a few of my tests they worked, but others they didn't. Have no idea what's going on there.

Hopefully this isn't too much to ask. I plan on working on the SN30 Pro after this is done, and I expect it will be similar!

Have you figured a way to connect it? The simple though of being able to play Capcom Vs SNK EO with a 6 button pad is enticing, I would configure it (taking cues from the Hori Gameboy Player controller) as A=B B=A X=Y Y=X C=R and Z=Lwith the shoukder buttons acting as duplicates and - as Z, and maybe I would add a mode to use L and R as Z

I have mine, a 2.4 Genesis version, so if I could use it I would be happy

From what I've tested out in the past, just connect the controller while it's in Mac Mode (Start + B, I think) It just works right off the bat, and I wasn't expecting it to work initially. The mappings are all 1:1 (A = A, B= B, and C=R, Z = L), so it's not exactly what you're looking for. I haven't really done anything to make a custom layout since discovering that Mac mode works, so there's that.

Thank you very much! Does Dinput works in the 2.4 Genesis model? If so I am set, fortunely what I want to play is a fighting game so mapping is not an issue, the issue could come back if I want to play Wind waker or Paper Mario though

You mean the radio frequency model instead of Bluetooth? Well, if it can connect to a computer, I would assume it should work. I only have the Bluetooth Model, so I can't help you there.

you need to rename the dol boot.dol and put it on a folder
sd:apps/hid/boot.dol

The turbo button on my Chinese 3rd party GC adapter may be causing it to input controls without me pressing any of the buttons (I'm using oem wavebird). Is there a way to disable the turbo button completely from the .ini file?
