Yup, no issue with the new menus. But I also always use the pro controller. It sounds like if you use the joy cons as a single controller, this may be why it wont always advance, and as I just explained, I actually understand why that may be the case.

Try with the Joycons. It might be an issue with sensing my joy cons or something, and it makes me press L+R to make sure that I'm using the right setup?

Yes... I just pointed out that joy cons actually makes sense why it may do this. Read what I also said in the comment before you first responded to me.

You might find this conversation pointless but by no means should it be on the EoF section. The OP made a valid point that it should only be necessary to press A (or Start/+) to start a game. Nintendo can obviously simplify ways to identify a controller.

It actually makes sense now that I've thought about. While the Pro controller will let you advance by just pressing A. If you're playing with Joy Cons especially for a game like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the game needs to know how to recognize you're using the Joy cons. If you hit L on the left joy con and R with the right joy con, you're using both joy cons as a single controller and are player one. If you the side L and R buttons on either joy con, you're using a single joy con as your controller, likely playing with 2 people and the first controller to hit these side L+R buttons is then player one. Now that I've thought about it, it actually makes perfect sense.

If you just pressed start or A with separated Joycon the game wouldn't know if you're using both or just the right Joycon

I get that for the Joy-Cons as one but normal controllers in general shouldn't be required. In fact, when connecting the Pro Controller as the first controller I just press A and nothing else, really.

And the game will advance by just pressing A with the pro controller. The whole system works as you would want it and it all makes logical sense.

Likes are an illusion they do not speak truth. Anybody that liked your original post is a testament to that.

I will not continue after this to engage with someone who is self projecting their salt. You will not win.
I will not engage with someone who obviously doesn't know that my last post was me joking and messing around, but is too salty to realize I wasn't serious,
especially when I mentioned the reptilian part.

Your defensiveness shows your insecurities, and the fact that you mentioned that I the Lizard Man, salty for lacking likes on the website,
when my original post has nothing of that, shows your ability to find whatever you can to try to make your self feel better, you are the epitome of salt.

And if you look I do have likes, at a very close 1 to 1 ratio. You brain is not functioning by your saltiness you missed that. Your probably suffering from hypertension from all that salt.

I'd take it easy with that salt. Too much of it could dehydrate and kill you. Not to mention strokes would be a risk. Just trying to help out here.
