I'm wondering if this is like some kinda of permanent side effect for playing backups? I play on both disc and USB and I still get the issue...

I'm wondering if it's the data transfer not being fast enough for the player so when the stream cannot meet the amount, it just stops? It's so weird.

I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed this...even though I doubt it's a very common setup. O_O

THANKS!

It's a common problem, with most games, especially with more intense sound (No More Heroes 2 and Mario Kart Wii ESPECIALLY)

It just stops, I have to switch my TV channel, or restart the reciever... so it restarts sending the stream again. I think once it stops, it just stops...but I can use everything without issue. o_o

It's a weird issue.

Oh, and it's with USB and disc backups...haven't played my originals in a while. It doesn't give me issue on my PS3 or 360 so it's not my hardware...it's something with the backup loading.

If this get fixed by tweeking your TV/receiver it could be a problem with your sound system. Maybe your audio cables are damaged. It's the first time I heard of this problem, I've experienced sound cut-offs in games like Brawl (retail) but it's because the disc streaming is high, and it doesn't last more than a 1 second, and it's very very faaaaaaar in between.

I have had this happen a few times while playing Melee. Also turning off then on the receiver to get the sound back. I didn't think it was the system, I thought maybe something clipped in my receiver or source selector.

its something to do with your system besides the software of the wii. if this was a software thing, you would see more posts about it than just yours. there is a chance that it is a hardware thing in your wii, but i dont think it is. when in doubt, just change 1 piece of your setup till you find the piece that is causing the error.

i would start with the surround receiver. do you get the same kind of errors if you run the sound through the tv instead of the receiver? if you have a different receiver, switch it out with yours and see if you still get this error.

what happens if you take your TV to somebody else's house and use their TV, cables, and receiver?

try both of these and you'll have your answer.

I bought a different digital coaxial...I'm hoping it's just that...=\ I'm thinking, maybe it wasn't good enough quality for the Wii...I don't know. It specifically only does it with the Wii. Never really had it not work with anything else, it's just the Wii...

I've tried two Wiis and got same issue...so it's something with the Wii... in specific...with it's surround...

if you tried 2 different wiis and got the same outcome, i think that rules out the wii as the problem. nobody else here has that issue with their wii. so that leaves your cable and your surround sound.

It may just be the way my TV handles raw stream. o_o Maybe instead of just doing the occasional drop and back on, it just stops completely when one error comes up? :wtf:

I haven't gotten my cord, that's coming Monday...but I think I wasted my money because the new cIOS57 rev18 fixed all of these issues.

The wii just couldn't send the stream fast enough... o_o At least for me, I think I just have a picky TV...so if an error came up, and it'd stop. Thanks for the help guys!
