If there were a way to exchange FC through streetpass then I'd carry it around, as I know ninty very well there's no way they'd include that. I'm not sure if it's worth it to carry it around just for fake battles to take place and whoooaaa I won. nice? then what...

Why would you want to exchange friend codes with random people? Friend codes are there to prevent exactly that: people you don't know getting your friend code.

I just don't think StreetPass is a useful function. Their acting like everyone and their grandma will have a 3DS and carry it around constantly. I mean there's a lot of DS consoles out there but I hardly see kids with them. Occasionally I see like a little kid playing Pokemon or something but I never felt like "WOW I MUST PLAY WITH HIM!" Odds are it'll be more popular in some countries and not others but in America at least, it seems really damn useless.

And yeah, these overenthusiastic people on the commercials and stuff give me the creeps. It's like whenever they turn on their DS/DS Lite/DSi/DSi XL/Wii/3DS, they instantly cream themselves.

Streetpass is a gimmick, well if you swapped content and there was an option yes/no would you like to add this person to your friends list so you can have a battle with them later. For us adults it's not so dangerous, but for kids maybe they'll go and meet that stranger if there was a way to communicate.

Am I the only person who thinks StreetPass is a HUGE fail. I for one don't carry my DS everywhere with me.
isnt that sort of the whole point of a handheld?

Just an extra thing I used to take my DS in with me when I was playing Pokemon a good bit and you can get a bit of stick from it (mainly from younger years oddly. My year are in the Pokemon Nostalgia crowd) hence I didn't do it much. I'd feel awkward playing my DS on a short bus journey into the city whereas if I was playing on my iPod or something people wouldn't think much of it (apps are small games that you can jump in and out of easily) Basically if I were to carry my DS around I'd feel I was being labelled a nerd. I don't think many people would be carrying around a 3DS for it to be a normal occurence to happen across a StreetPass enabled 3DS (especially since people would likely disable it to save on battery life)
Anyway, I have a GBC emu on my iPod so I can have some Pokemon nostalgia... *sigh*

if I have a bag I don't see why not to carry it with me. You never know when you'll need to kill some time.
WTF with your signature
and is that Chuck on your avatar?

just two smiles having fun. And my avatar and more you can see at Exterface. It's NSFW though.

even more dangerous if they know your location through the GPS feature on the NGP.

I've never come across anyone using Pictochat in public (not that I go to huge conventions or anything) so the likelihood of you standing near somebody for enough time for data to transfer seems amazingly low to me.
And its just a waste of battery. I also don't want constant auto-updating (there HAS to be a way to turn that off -_-)
Well, better to have the option. With PictoChat though, you had to be actively there; you'd disconnect if you closed the DS. Seeing as StreetPass is passive, while it may not do much here, it's got a slightly higher chance of being effective.

Gone are the days of "Can I have your number?".
Now it's "Can I have your friend code?".

Everyone and their grandma has a DS btw. I see kids and stuff all the time with DS consoles. Many of my close friends also have 3DS consoles pre ordered. Picto chat is a fail anyway.
