A new report came in claiming that the switch is using Maxwell Architecture. This could mean two things: 1) IPC with Maxwell is around 1.1 times of that of Pascal. 2) Most likely 16nm is still being utilized. 16nm Maxwell could end up better than Pascal and still used some advanced technology. Still, it's possible to have a better gpu than Tegra X1.
According to the report this thing is on par with Xbox One.
Edit: The same article also said 20nm. Sorry for the miss information.
Or of course this could be based on the earlier tegra x1 based dev unit.

Further, Cloud gaming seems to be a thing with the switch and that could be where the previous new dev kit with 1060 came in. On the other hand, this source is also claiming it uses partially android or linux.
And the same guy is also talking about Mobile games.

I don't know if I believe that. Have we even ever heard of this guy, Dean Takahashi before this rumor? I doubt this is real. Because that same article literally says "The Switch could still be appealing. You can play a game at home, plugging it into the base (which has no extra processing power in it; it’s simply a power supply and a way to connect the console to the TV).". But, on the Jimmy Fallon Show when Reggie had the Nintendo Switch in the dock, you can hear a fan coming from the dock which a lot of people supposedly thinks is making the Switch going into overclocked mode reaching it's full potential. When Reggie takes out the Nintendo Switch from the dock, you don't hear that fan from the dock anymore. So, to me that simply disproves this rumor.

So, it is looking to be around the Xbox one, no matter what. Good enough for me.

Well, this device is being made by the same people who made the Shields series, so not farfetched. If true, could mean some compatibility to the Android market.

While he didn't mention the fan and it might not be true, it didn't contradict what he said. A fan doesn't mean the dock has extra processing power.

I guess this is more of speculation and he based it purely on the earlier dev kit Nintendo already replaced. I can understand about Maxwell but using 20nm is absolutely suicide at this point.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1325344
Also confirmed by Laura Kate Dale.
Nothing much really, just the motherboard and components.
Dedicated chip to communicate with controller, lots of sensors and a fan in the tablet, magnetic force detector that can be used on more than one part with the screen or controller connector or even usb c port, and two slots which could be micro sd + one game cartridge or two game cartridge, but my money is on the first one. Oh, and touch screen and gyro.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also 512/ 921MHz is still a bit slower than GTX 750.

The slide members are capable of slidably engaging with rail members of the respective game controllers in a predetermined slide direction.
Sounds... slidey...

I just need to know about the possibility of various joycon controls.

Or if the joycons triggers are like gc triggers

A lot of info to take in but it was fun to look at, thanks!

REALLY hope Nintendo goes back to Analog triggers. I just introduced my wife to the joys of Analog triggers in racing games. It was fun hearing her boast about beating me without ever having to push the brake.

Read the latter one, the first one is probably BS.

lol I meant to say thanks for the Neogaf link

THIS was nice! I'm still not a fan of switch but those triggers look nice and analog... then again, I dont want to fool myself. The triggers on my Peach and Yoshi fight pads look analog but they are definitely digital. :/

I can't believe everyone is just glossing over this:
15178984-60flo3a.png

[0778] FIG. 60 is a diagram showing an example HMD accessory to which the main unit 2 can be attached. An HMD accessory 230 shown in FIG. 60 includes a housing 231 and belts 232a and 232b. One end of the belt 232a is attached to one end of the housing 231, and one end of the belt 232b is attached to the other end of the housing 231. Although not shown in the figure, the other end of the belt 232a can be removably connected to the other end of the belt 232b. Thus, the housing 231 can be mounted on the head of the user by connecting together the two belts 232a and 232b around the head of the user. Note that there is no particular limitation on the mechanism for allowing the HMD accessory 230 to be mounted on the head of the user.

There are several questions:
1) If usb-c is utilized to connect some extra sensors this will be much better than your average mobile vr, even with the lower resolution. If Nintendo wanted, they can even include a battery and better yet an hdmi in. (So you can use it as a headset for pc)
2) If the switch can actually hit a higher than 60 refresh rate which will be really handy in vr.
3) At what clock will it run.
4) How heavy is everything together.

Essentially, yeah, but it's also custom tailored for the device

More like GearVR, really
No, not even GearVR have a port as fast as usb 3.0 or a dedicated port between the headset and the phone. Switch on the other hand is at least as fast as usb 3.1 gen 2, and a port on the bottom that would allow the heat set to include some extra stuff.
