Homebrew Question Nintendo switch retroarch saves

Hi not sure this is the right place to post this but, I am having a problem locating the game saves in the retroarch folder.

(For example)
If i save say a pokemon fire red game while in retroarch, i dont see the save file in the savefile directory or anywhere on the switch.

Make sure to close Retroarch via the "Quit Retroarch" option and not closing with the home button cause saves will not be saved if you exit that way,

I know this and i still do not see the saves.

Hopefully i can find where the saves are going :/ i just want to put my own save in to go where i left off from.

EDIT:
Ok I've searched everywhere on my switch for a save file, and im finding nothing im at a loss.

I figured it out apparently the defaulted directory which is called /retroarch/cores/savefiles....
does not work you have to make a new file for it.
