Hey ok so I'm posting this thread out of pure desperation. I loaded Linux onto my switch and the whole battery shutting down thing happened at around 50 percent. I've seen that others have had this problem, and they fixed it by disconnecting the battery. I do not have the time right now to buy a tri wing screwdriver, and I cant drain my switch battery to zero percent, because the switch just does the whole shutting off thing before even 10 percent. Does anyone have advice? please help

I'm just looking for a way to fix my switch without having to go into the hardware of it
Did you uninstall Linux?
It's not clear what you're trying to do, are you trying to run Linux, or restore the Switch to the way it was working before you put Linux on it?

well Linux never fully booted on my switch, when I attempted booting Linux, the outcome was just my battery becoming all screwed up, to where somethings wrong with the indicator or something. would a complete restore fix it?

There's no other way than physically taking the battery out. You can get the screw driver for a few dollars at your local hardware stire

SciresM was looking for volunteers a little while in regards to this issue, so a software fix may come out eventually.

But until then, you should just take the plunge and get the screwdriver.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to remove the battery.

I saw someone else mention that all you need to do is re-sync Horizon's and Linux battery levels with each other. Fully charge the Switch to 100% then immediately boot into Linux. Charge that to 100% then boot back into Horizon. Never tried it myself though.

ok I will try that, what is the best way to boot back into Linux because the first time I tried was slightly unsuccessful. I am running fw 5.1.0

Ok so I caved in and bought a cheap tri wing screwdriver. Got the back off, and accidently disconnected the sd card reader. After disconnecting the battery, holding the power button, and reconnecting the sd card, i plugged everything back in and the switch was able to run to 0 percent finally! Chwrged it back up to 100 and everuthing is perfectly fine, to no surprise
