What new model of Switch will Nintendo release?

I can picture a budget version that's geared almost exclusively for handheld mode and therefore has the attachable joy-cons removed as a feature in favor of a regular gamepad.

Probably a "New Nintendo Switch" with improved Tegra chip, patched bootrom, and more battery life.
I don't think we will see a console size increase, but perhaps they will minimize bezels and put a bigger screen in a console of the same size.

PS: The improved Tegra chips will mean slightly improved FPS, but not a big change. The games will still be the same, same console, no exclusives. Think something like a jump from Xbox One -> Xbox One S (not even X).

A while back ago, after a Nintendo Switch update was datamined, a new "a" folder was discovered, which has lead to the possibility of a Switch 2. under development in Nintendo's secret underground lab. But do we really need a Switch 2? Just the thought of a New Nintendo Switch XL is making us all cringe deep inside. Why would Nintendo even think about releasing a new model of one of their most successful systems of all time, after just 1 year. It just doesn't make sense. So here's the question: If Nintendo were to make a new model of the Switch, what would it be like? Would it be bigger, smaller, a different color, faster, with a camera, better quality, more space, or really just any improvement whatsoever? Nintendo could take the handheld path, and release larger and/or smaller sizes of the system and with different themes, like the New Nintendo 2DS XL Or Nintendo could take the console path, and release a premium version of the Switch, like the Xbox One X/S or PS4 Pro as pretty much anyone would classify Nintendo's latest console as "budget", the overall cheap feeling of the system. Personally, I predict Nintendo will release a Switch Pro, something better than the pack but nothing too different, following the lead of their two biggest competitors. But what do you all think?
It's not a new Switch, just a SoC revision to address the current exploit disaster they have on their hands.

I think you took it too literal and missed the "what if" hypothetical world question.
I still believe they will eventually (mid-2019?) release a minimal revision, and I consider the probable changes that I described above.

We need a Vita TV option for the Switch. I'd call it a Switch TV.
Why the heck do you need that? The console is not that powerful and I don't even know why would anyone go with mobile SOC made for tablets\smartphones in a home console where all the others are using PC like more powerful hardware...

I guess the fact that Switch can be both of 2 worlds portable and home, its way better, I would never buy it if it wasnt portable.

I don't think that will be just now... I don't think an upgrade for Tegra X2 is also reasonable as it is just a small step forward, but it would help battery life as its made in 16nm...

But the new upcoming Tegra Volta based will have a huge boost in performance and will be 12nm, this is a must have update in my opinion for the next Switch maybe like 1.5-2 years from now. I mean a cutdown version of this SOC and with downclock because most likely this SOC will be a power eater on the normal version that Nvidia will put out, but I think it will also have impressive performance.

Maybe they will improve battery life which is not great.
And probably release some retro look edition, the original Game Boy and SNES will be 30 years old in a couple of years.

The New Switch will be a clam shell design so as to better protect the screen when on the go. It will have folding screen technology so you can have a screen that covers both halves of the shell (rather than 2 different screens), the joy cons will attach to the top and bottom, rather than the sides (since you'll turn it sideways to play it), and there will be a fully functional phone stuffed into it so you can use it as a smart phone and a gaming console. It won't be compatible with any current phone, though, and will be powered by the new SwitchOS.

I think we may see a revision in year 3 so 1H 2020,Japan used mario as it's cultural mascot as it's intro at the end of the brazil olympics so if there was ever a time to market a new device it would be with the coinciding of the japanese olympics.

My prediction is to have the Nintendo Labo - Toy Con 02 - Robot Kit updated to have the Switch VR screen right in your face, in HD and to see everything around you, and not this cardboard funny face :
