I've owned both the Cosmo Black and the Aqua Blue 3DS at some point.
The Aqua Blue one is a lot better, and when I say a lot, I mean it.
The thing about the black one is that it was just black all over. No colour variation. It was extremely boring and dull.
But, why would they do that at all? Even if it didn't sell well, they didn't have to completely stop its production.

I'm curious to know if this applies to NA and EU as well...

This might be bad for me. I love my Aqua Blue, but I need to send it in for repairs (meant to send it in earlier to fix outer cameras). If I don't act quick, and they replace it, I'll have to deal with a different color.....

They always replace with the same color. It's part of their policy.

But at least NA/EU still has aqua blue
