With the recent release of TWLTool to downgrade and be able to hack any DSi that exists right as of now, as well as being able to run DSiWare on hacked 3DS consoles, it'd be nice to have a place for all the DSi-related development on the site, whether it's homebrew or tools for DSiWare (Such as tools for editing various games). Could this be a possibility in the near future, perhaps even just a single subforum of the Nintendo DS section?

I haved asked at http://4dsdev.org/ if it's okay to post DSi stuff there. And the answers, http://4dsdev.org/thread.php?id=60 do sound as if it would be okay, or even welcome.
At the moment, there aren't any DSi sections yet, but I guess we can hijack the 3DS homebrew and 3DS reverse engineering sections for now (and mark the topics as "DSi" related).
If the DSi posts should be overshadowing the 3DS posts (quite likely to happen since the forum is focused on tech stuff, and there aren't too many tech people posting there yet), then, I guess, we could even hope to get an own DSi section at 4dsdev. Or in worst case, we might get banned and told to go away with that unpopular DSi stuff ;- )

We are not necessarily against adding a DSi section, but at this moment I'm not sure the DSi threads are active enough to warrant it. We generally create sections for things that have a lot of activity already, and not to make them more active.

Perhaps we could try something else, like adding a thread prefix for DSi threads. It would work just like the "Suggestion" prefix on this thread basically. People could then filter on DSi threads without having to create an entire section for it. If anything, it would make it easier to discuss whether a dedicated section is worth it.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
