The game should work if it´s a clean Fire Red gba file. Make sure it doesn´t have a rom intro attached.
This is what a rom intro looks like.


You want to use clean, unpatched rom files. They are called No-Intro roms. You can find them online when you google gba no intro rom.

I placed my GBARunner2 file in the roms folder on the root of the sd card. I recommend you do the same.

Copy the GBARunner arm7dldi ds.nds. file to the rom folder on the root of the sd folder. The pokemon rom can stay where it is.
Boot twilightmenu and into the menu screen. The GBARunner arm7dldi ds.nds. file should be visible in the roms folder.
