Am I the only person in the world that likes Tombraider Legends ????

Maybe its just that it takes me back to the days of my PS1 (or playstation as we called it at the time as there was no PS2 or PS3), pre-kids when I could waste hours trying to work out what Lara was supposed to be doing.

As a middle aged housewife I must vote for the obvious

42 All-time Classics
Brain Training (1 & 2)

Lets face it, they made these titles for the likes of me so I have to vote for them !!!!!

After you post, I put it on my card and I'm enjoying it!
I remember first time that I played it, I was vomiting but now I'm enjoying it! (not a GREAT game, but its ok!)
maybe its ok now that I see DS's 3D is not gonna get better!
i really like the Bike scene, it was fun and killings are good and another great thing about this game is its underwaters that goes to lower screen, its just wow and great usage of 2 screens.

Thanks for reminding that to me thus it doesnt have that old Tomb Raider feeling for me which I have more for Tomb Raider II than 1 but, its ok.
(its not old Tomb Raider, it IS the new series, but its ok)

Those are the games I've really enjoyed that don't already have 20 votes. No gamer should be without any of the aforementioned titles, in my opinion.

@ aeSentinel: I won't judge you on any of the other titles you listed, and there are a few I love myself, but I'm sorry, Dementium is NOT an essential DS game. The save system is essentially broken.

I was one of the folks hyped most for the game here on GBATemp, but man, did it disappoint me. Even if you set aside the save system, which will make most grown men cry, the game is repetitive as all hell. Essentially the same four monsters inhabit the entire game, and there is no real story; all you get by the end of the game is what you already knew in the beginning of the game -- some dude was institutionalized.

Unfortunately, most "essential game" lists don't work for me. I tend to like games most people hate and hate most games others like, so.....

...yeah.

I agree that the save system is terrible and the monsters are repetitive, amongst many other flaws, but I still think the game is quite an accomplishment for the system. Excellent ambient sound effects, nice graphics and the claustrophobia of walking into a pitch black hallway full of monsters with a shitty little (real-time) torch.

And in my opinion, the lack of obvious storyline was pretty enjoyable, but then again, I also loved Donnie Darko and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I guess it's one of those love or hate things, but I for one loved it.

Hmm...all good points, and actually, the fact the game did so many things right just made my disappointment all that much greater. The controls were really good, and the framerate was excellent. Graphics and sound were quite an accomplishment, and the lighting was very impressive for the DS. I played through the whole thing just to give it its due in that respect, but ultimately, it just wasn't really fun to play. MPH was pretty much the same type of experience for me, although I feel that game had a lot more going for it. But I equate both games to having a really cherried-out hotrod but no track to race it on. :'(

Retro Atari Classics (Asteroids)
Namco Museum DS (Galaga)
Geometry Wars Galaxies (not an classic, but same genre as previous games)
Metroid Prime Pinball

Games I should be playing daily, my brain trainers :
Math Play
Chessmaster: Art of Learning

Games I have been playing daily :
Zelda :Phantom Hourglass
Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings

Games I enjoy playing with my kids (multiplayer) :
Mario Kart
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
New Super Mario Bros.
Bomberman Land Touch

Games with music :
Elite Beat Agents
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!

The arcade style classics are the easiest games to pick up and play, and they're also the most addictive games for me.
