Due to slim pickings for each week I've decided to post the rest of Aprils releases instead of doing the weekly thread. The thread will go back to weekly in May as there is a shit ton of games out then. For the Wii I only wrote up the notable games as I lost interest.

Please remember that I don't write up games that have already been released in English in other regions.

These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you like a something loves something.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Although some places list Black Sigil & C.O.R.E. for release on the 14th, the publisher has actually announced that the games have been delayed so they can meet demand. Those two will be released May 12th.

<b>Developer:</b> Success <b>Publisher:</b> Atlus Co

Back in May '08, a game titled Genma no Tou to Tsurugi no Omote was published by Success in Japan. Back then I said something like "wouldn't it be great if Atlus picked this up for a Western release?" and as usual they did what I wanted.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The powerful Archmage Tyrhung resides in a tower of mist and shadow. He holds in his possession a jewel of great worth and power. A group of adventurers assemble. Will they be able to conquer Tyrhung and his nefarious tower? The party sets out, its fate yet to be determined... "We are the Knights who say... NI!" Continuing the tradition of Etrian Odyssey, Atlus's The Dark Spire is the next great homage to the RPG classics of old.

The Dark Spire is an RPG of exploration and character development in the tradition of classic old-school RPGs, complete with party assembly options, roll-for-stats gameplay, and a wide variety of items, weapons and armor to equip. Some adventurers will choose to play using the "modern" interface, its bold, stylized textures and palettes delivering a fresh, up-to-date adventure. Others may opt for the "classic" mode, guaranteed to evoke overwhelming sensations of nostalgia as it perfectly recreates the style and simplicity of the fathers of the genre. Two different presentation modes, two different ways to experience The Dark Spire!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'll be playing this in black & white wireframe mode and 8 bit sound when it comes out. Not expecting much from it but whatever.

So its another Tangrams game which was popularised in video games by Yukes own Neves. I cant see how this can be bad but then I still cant see how it can make me want to play it when I didn't want to play a Tangrams game by a better developer.

Silent Scope was fun wasn't it? Hell even the GBA one had its moments. Here is a DS title that rips it off and adds some sort of generic Japanese visual novel thing with chicks dressed in skimpy outfits, that DS games tend to have nowadays. That is all I know. Expect some people to want it translated and then bitch about it being bad.

From Banpresto (Sailor Moon & Summon Night series as well as Super Robot Wars), and co-developed with Monolift Soft (Xenosaga, Baten Kaitos series & Soma Bringer) comes a pretty pervy looking (major boobage) Tactical RPG.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is a unique sci-fi/fantasy RPG that takes players across a variety of worlds, ranging from an apocalyptic wasteland covered with the hulks of downed spaceships to a fantastical place of fairy tales and dark magic. Join Haken Browning: gunslinger, professional bounty hunter, and amateur ladies' man, along with his motley crew of robots, were-beasts, secret agents, and busty princesses as they delve deep into the mysteries of how their worlds came to be and face a threat that imperils the multiverse.

* Super Robot Taisen is back - Built on the DNA of the beloved Super Robot Taisen series, Endless Frontier expands the scope of the universe into a saga of multiple worlds and the conflict of humans, robots, and countless others living across space and time. The long-awaited return of the series brings with it with a brand new story and characters and a reinvented battle system
* High-action chain combat system - Enemies go up and stay up with a battle system that lets you juggle foes with a run of kicks, punches, slashes, gun attacks, bombs, and more! Chaining is the name of the game, and timing-based button presses let you create an acrobatic string of assaults. You can even call in allies to keep the chain going longer
* Customize your attack combos - Pick and choose from a menu of attack skills to create the combo line-up you want to use in battle. Skills vary in strength and resources used, in addition to side benefits of stunning, triggering critical hits, and more
* Bonus items - Owners of the Super Robot Taisen Original Generation games for Game Boy Advance™ can unlock bonus items in their Endless Frontier game by booting the game with the GBA cartridges in the GBA game slot of their DS unit<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I remember the Japanese trailer of this and wanting an English release, but since then I've read about it being nothing more than an average game. One to try for myself then though I can't say my hopes are high for this game.

Not counting the DSiWare one which was more of a tech demo than anything else, its been a long time since we last had a WarioWare title and that was on the Wii. For DS owners it was way way back in 2004.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The player is able to make own graphics, music and logic routines for his or her microgames. The tools for creating the artwork are partly taken from Mario Paint, and even the respective graphics resemble the visuals of the named game. Furthermore, Myself offers the possibility to create comics.
The game is divided into three sections:

* My House: The main section of the game were the player creates the microgames. The tools for graphical editing include different pencil tools, spray can, fill tool and eraser. They are used for both background elements and sprites which can be easily placed and moved around. The game allows to program logic routines to define the game's rules. Sound effects and music can be made as well. A separate utility allows to create four-panel comics, too.
* WarioWare, Inc.: The game's tutorial hosted by Penny Crygor.
* My Shop: In this section, the player saves the microgames and puts them together. A "game card" can be designed for the microgame set.

Players can make their creations available to other Myself owners. They can also be uploaded to Nintendo for contest purposes. Additionally, a game called Asobu Made in Ore will be released on WiiWare and allows to play the self-made games and games made by other players on the Wii. 90 microgames are already available from the beginning.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Should be a great little title when its released, no date for a release outside of Japan but someone from Nintendo has said that it should be expected later this year.

Hurrah another port of a PS2 game!
Description of PS2 original
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->A semi-sequel/expansion to Capcom's popular 2004 online game, where players once again set off on adventure as hunters of gigantic beasts. Monster Hunter G adds a number of significant features to the original. Responding to feedback from players all over the world, the development team has incorporated an improved chatting and search interface in addition to allowing players to walk around town with their weapons. A sorting option has been added to the item pouches and boxes as well, and brand new weapons, color variations, and missions have been added to the initial lineup to help support an all-new twin blade weapon style.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Capcom doesn't seem that bothered in this version and to be honest the reason the series never took off outside of Japan was because it wasn't that great, though the next Wii game does look quite special. Capcom say this wont be released in English and are more interested in MH3 Wii. Of course they did say that the Resident Evil 0 remake wasn't coming out in English and low and behold it will. Either way I don't think you should care either way as Capcom have put very little effort into this version. Some may wanna download this as apparently it has a demo of MH3!

For some reason there is very little hype for this title, seriously you people should pay more attention to it! This title will be the next Wii classic.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->As King, players will manage and involve their townspeople in the goals of creating this new territory; enlisting them to dig for treasure, build new buildings and otherwise better their community. Of course, leadership is a two-way street, so as King, players will try to conquer rival nations to create a single unified kingdom, while also granting the requests of townspeople at whim. The game transforms the Wii Remote to a royal scepter and offers players the chance to be the best king in the world!

Little King's Story has an art style that is very 'story-book' in look and a magical fairy tale quality that will intrigue and delight gamers. The storyline, visual look, and lyrical music of Little King’s Story, work in concert to transport players to an interactive, enchanting, fairy tale world. By combining gameplay elements from life-simulation, real-time strategy, and adventure genres, the many aspects of creating a vast kingdom come to life!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It's developers have previously done the excellent "Hotel Dusk" and the ok but it has it fans "Trace Memory". Scores for UK press are very impressive, the lowest score I have seen so far is 9/10...this will be a classic, mark my words.

A lot of people want this game, I'm not sure why as previous game "No One Can Stop Mr. Domino" was awful.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The town is full of people in trouble. • An original action-platform game with unique gameplay and visual style
• Discover secret areas to get additional bonuses and extras
• Minon changes his size to the proportions of the game world – he can be the size of an insect in one level and the size of skyscraper in another
• The game is packed with humor - from intro movies and story to the actual gameplay elements
• Play alone or together with a friend
• Once completed, you can replay the game to find newly opened tasks and challenges<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Not sure how it got a sequel but Mastiff liked it so much that they decided NOT to publish it in Europe...not a good sign if they think something isn't good enough to release.

Another old game comes to the Wii, to be honest I'd rather have a NEW FUCKING GAME. Come on Nintendo, show us Pikmin 3 already! We all know its in the works.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->This second game in the Pikmin franchise improves and expands on the real-time fun offered in the first. In Pikmin 2, Captain Olimar returns to the planet he was originally stranded on, to collect trinkets for his failing company to sell back at home. A new two-character play mechanic has been added, which allows players to switch between two spacemen while collecting items. Along with the new playable character, two new Pikmin types have been included-- large hulking purple Pikmin, and small and feisty white Pikmin. Two-player co-op challenge missions and a competitive mode are also available.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you hadn't played this game then this is a great excuse to. It improves upon the original so damn much, almost making the first game obsolete.

I agree with you Hadrian, little kings story is looking a diamond in the rough, i read in edge that its a long game. Definately one to watch, dark spire some how reminds me of the "showing age here" peter jackson books

isnt core due out 14th, and blade of the exiled, everywhere i've checked still has them out in april. Although i have seen the posts about them getting pushed back again.... which i wouldn't be suprised

Hmm, slow going. Already finished Endless Frontier ages ago and it WAS a pretty simple game, but fun while it lasted.
Already love the Etrian games, so no real desire for Dark Spire. Won't stop me from trying it, though.
Dokapon Journey looks FUN.

Although some places list Black Sigil & C.O.R.E. for release on the 14th, the publisher has actually announced that the games have been delayed so they can meet demand. Those two will be released May 12th.

Your lack of hadrian approved 'stamps' does gave me the chills. Since this month is going to be a slow one until May hits.

I didn't use them if I did then Excitebots & Little Kings Story would have had them. Aren't the wanted levels enough?

Also May/June looks healither, but then its the same every year only that the Wii looks better while the DS line up doesn't really do much for me. Here is what I'm looking forward too:

Wii:
May:
Virtua Tennis 2009, Klonoa (well I wont get it but the Japanese one is decent), Boom Blox Bash Party & Punch-Out!!

June:
Ghostbusters, Let's Tap, EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis, Overlord Dark Legend, The Conduit

DS:
May:
Roogoo, Puzzle Kingdoms, Jagged Alliance

June:
The Legendary Starfy (would prefer a port of the first gba one) & Overlord Minions,

Its June 23rd. Dunno if I care, the only RPG's I wanna play nowadays are either Mario related or have something new.
