This is exactly why I'm going to re write this when I'm in the mood to and have the time to. So that all of you understand that there isn't going to be a flashcard (according to current information) and that it's all going to boot off of the SD card. And they don't plan on releasing any piracy related software either-but homebrew only. The piracy stuff will probably be picked up by someone else.

Who made usb loaders? They've got the guts, could they make a 3ds one?

Some Wii hacker posted a picture of the 3DS, saying some hack message a few months back. Since then they have just been chipping away at the inner working of the thing and posting there stuff on a wiki. All of the updates you will ever see are just people interpreting wiki and twitter post. Also before this the guys who already hacked it started a fundraiser to un hinge a micro chip in a the 3DS's flux capacitor. Thats about it, also there is another Wii hacking group that hacked the WiiU screen too. And they also just make goofy blog updates.

There's a working exploit with a single, unnamed retail cartridge game that requires using a usb save dongle, or breaking off the tab of the game's cartridge and using some DS homebrew to write the save. It can then load code from the SD card. The hackers are using the new access they have to the unit to try and find another exploit, because Nintendo will put out a patch within a day of it going live. They do not have the ability to make custom firmware and their previous DSi hack was fixed quickly.

e: DSi hack as in actually running in DSi mode (more processing power, camera access) not as in mimicking a DS game to run in DS mode.

This is the more accurate one and pretty much all you need to know. Other than that, the hack uses an sd card to load and execute custom code. Also, 3DBrew devs are laughing at us. Constantly. -.-
